If we lose in 3, 4 or 5 games or even come back and win, there are some issues with the team 1. TLR was not the answer as manager, this was a mediocre team after the All Star break with a lot of questionable moves by LaRussa which has continued in the first 2 games against the Astros. We won the division in spite of bim. Hiring him was another bad move by Reinsdorf in a long list of many. 2. We need a rightfielder who can hit and hit with power. Sheets and Vaughn could be the answer but their defense is the problem. I love Engel but only as the 4th outfielder. Scroll down, I messed up as I'm getting old. 3. We need a second baseman, are there any Altuve clones avaiable, Luery and Hernandez are not the answer. 4. We need another starting pitcher, maybe 2 as Rodon is injury prone and Kuechel really regressed, hopefully Kopech and Lopez can fill the void. 5. I have concerns about Eloy, maybe the injury screwed things up things with him and he comes back strong next year. 6. Catching is a problem, Grandall is no Officer Karkovice defensively plus we need a better backup guy, an ideal situation is signing a guy who would take over the catching duties with Grandall the backup which would also free him up as the main DH. 7. The bullpen needs 1 or 2 more reliable guys especially if Kopech becomes a starter. 8. Abreu is no spring chicken, he will need more rest next year, Grandall could spell him more at first with Jose DHing. 9. What happens to Jake Burger, he's ready to play in the Majors. I wasn't a big Moncada fan in the past but his defense was outstanding so do the Sox trade Burger? Can he play second, probaby not. What could we get for him maybe in a package with Vaughn as I think we should keep Sheets. I expect a busy off-season if Hahn looks at things honestly and hasn't fallen in love with his players and is wearing blinders.

The Madrigal trade will go down as one of the worst in White Sox history. I hated it when it went down and nothing has changed.

Yes sir, will never forget the joys the Sox gave especially in 50s and 60s GO GO years. Maybe this is wrong but I've been a Sox fan since 1952 and I feel like I deserve more than 1 World Championship in 70 years, put up with so many sleepless nights and a whole lot of heartbreak.

My Mom loved the Sox but died in Feb. 2005 and never saw a White Sox World Championship. We did go to the 2nd game of the 1959 World Series with my favotite uncle.

Well at least I get to watch my 2nd favorite team beat the Puke Sox tonight.

He was 100 years old, not 99. As an oldster who became a Sox fan in 1952, I remember him along with a few others from the early GO GO years. He had a nice career and played with almost every team in the AL, sort of wierd that his best year with home runs was with the Sox while playing in cavernous Comiskey Park.

Not really a summer vacation but we are big lovers of cruises, we've taken 62 of them. Because of Covid it's been almost 2 years since our last one. We finally decided its time to test the waters ( no pun intended) and have booked a cruise for Nov 28 with Princess Cruises. Protocols are in place, you must be vaccinated and have a negative Covid test dated no earlier than 48 hours before boarding the ship, masks are required indoors except when dining or in your cabin, if you are out on deck no masks are required. Cabins are being sold at 60% of capacity. Princess started sailing again in June and have had no incidents of Covid cases on their ships so it's all aboard in 8 weeks.

I personally know more Dems than Republicans that have refused the Jab. I live in Florida and in a county with a very large Senior Citizen population and older folks are a go for the vaccine, the Dems I know that refused the Jab are neighbors in their 40s and 50s. I play in a golf group 3 times a week and its mostly Republican with a few Democrats and we are all over 70 and we all have had the vaccine. I think the issue is more to do with age than politics.
