Closer
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 13, 2014 -> 08:09 PM) The 64K dollar question for sure. I am guessing Nate Jones but no one has done their job. I'm sure going into Spring Training Hahn was counting on Jones to be the closer. Let's hope he comes back soon.

Trade for bullpen help?
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 13, 2014 -> 08:22 PM) How does one go about accomplishing that, haha? Frustrated would be better, fixed it.

Trade for bullpen help?
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 13, 2014 -> 08:07 PM) You ruined a good post with this inane idea of trading Beckham. Semien hasn't proven anything yet Beckham has frustrated us since his nice rookie year of 2009, it's not like we would be trading a Nellie Fox or Ryne Sandberg.

Trade for bullpen help?
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2014 -> 07:23 PM) If we are in this in July or August... maybe. In April? God no. I know its early but I think with the new attitude with the hitters it would be a shame for the bullpen to keep blowing games. Right now we lead MLB in blowing 3 out of 4 save chances.

Right now I have to go with Nate Jones when he comes back from his injury.

Trade for bullpen help?
Who can we trade to get some bullpen help and while we are at it, we need another starter, Paulino is horrible. I'm thinking maybe we could get something for Beckham when he's healthy, I think Semien can handle second base.

Attendance
QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Apr 13, 2014 -> 10:59 AM) As far as other stadiums that keep people out of the rest of the stadium, I sat in the bleachers at New Yankee Stadium in 2009 and did not have access to the lower levels or rest of the park. They literally had giant cage like doors denying access from the bleacher section. Would have been cool to see the rest of the park, but whatever. Me and my buddies got kicked out of the park for heckling Rios when he was still a Blue Jay right before Mo came on to pitch the 9th, that kinda sucked. I remember at Wrigley back in the 50s and 60s management denying access to the grandstand area from the bleachers. There was an Andy Frain usher who was seated right by the right field foul pole and he sat under an umbrella. In left field there was an usher that denied you access but unlike right field there was a ramp that went down to field level behind the wall by the foul pole. At old Comiskey if IRRC if you sat in the bleachers that's were you sat the whole game also but I would not bet on it because I only sat in Comiskey's bleachers one time.

Cleveland Indians vs Chicago White Sox game #3
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 12, 2014 -> 03:44 PM) Cooper has done a terrible job with the bullpen. Coop can do so much and when a pitcher has no talent Cooper would have to be a miracle worker to cure him.

Cleveland Indians vs Chicago White Sox game #3
We need help in the pitching department. We have 3 starters and not a whole lot more.

Cleveland Indians vs Chicago White Sox game #3
Not sure if I've ever seen that kind of DP before with the third sacker in the middle of the play.

Cleveland Indians vs Chicago White Sox game #3
I love Adam Eaton, what a player we stole from Arizona.

I can't take this guy anymore, does Sale have any brothers or sisters.

We gotta have someone better than this guy.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Apr 12, 2014 -> 07:36 AM) I think there is a significant fan problem. Last night the White Sox were by far the lowest draw in baseball. Unfortunately Tampa Bay which usually gets that honor was on the road. Obviously the season ticket sales tanked this year which is the core of most teams attendance. Hopefully the Sox react and offer packages conducive to getting fannies back in the seats. I think today's crowd will give us an idea if we have an attendance issue. Looks like a decent day up there and if we don't break the 20,000 barrier with an exciting young team, there just might be a problem.

Avisail Garcia is out for the rest of 2014
QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Apr 10, 2014 -> 04:39 PM) Is Viciedo a defensive upgrade in RF? From what we saw of Garcia in the early going, the Tank just might be an upgrade.

Avisail Garcia is out for the rest of 2014
QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 10, 2014 -> 01:35 PM) While this is all true - it still sucks. You're right, no doubt about it. Hate to bring it up but down through the years going back to Monty Stratton the Sox have had some good young talent who suffered some bad injuries, Bill Melton and Carlos May are two that come to mind.

Avisail Garcia is out for the rest of 2014
I'm one guy who did not want Tank traded, he is too young to give up on. He now has his chance to step it up and reach the potential we all thought he had when we signed him. Up until now it looked like a platoon role for him but with Garcia out for the year Tank has to do the job, I'm not a big DeAza fan but I guess he gets LF full time and Danks will be the 4th outfielder and a late inning replacement for Tank. It could still be a fun year as we watch some of these guys develop.

Avisail Garcia is out for the rest of 2014
I did not see the play but I know one thing, I see way too much unnecessary diving for balls in MLB. Before we moved to Florida I was a pretty good friend of Jimmy Piersall who was a hell of a center fielder and he despised it when guys dove for balls.

The Portland White Sox?
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 05:39 PM) The Sox are never relocating because a split Chicago will always be greater than whatever s*** markets are available to move to. I'm sorry, but the whole notion is beyond ridiculous. Maybe they move to the suburbs when the Cell's lease expires, but they aren't abandoning the Chicago market for a Portland or Charlotte. There is no way such a move makes financial sense and MLB would never allow let it to happen anyways. I hope you are right but a lot of things can change in 15 years. As far as MLB would never allow it, it's still hard to believe that the Dodgers left Brooklyn. At the time it was sacreligious that it could happen but it did. Nothing surprises me anymore in pro sports, LA the second largest market in the country still has not replaced the NFL teams it has lost.

The Portland White Sox?
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 01:58 PM) We did have around 3 million that year...but the bump for winning a World Series is gone by Year 5. The Cubs also had fun/entertaining teams at that time, coming off the 2003 disappointment. It's not like those teams felt like the last three years on the Northside. In the case of the White Sox, 2007 and 2009 really killed all the forward momentum. This whole situation is well-documented...Harry Caray, Sportsvision, erosion of the neighborhood in 70's and 80's, the almost opposite trendiness of the Northside simultaneously, the stadium, the lack of activities and nightlife in the area. There are a million reasons. As far as activities in the neighborhood, to me that has never mattered. I went to ball games to see baseball and hopefully a Sox win. Look at the Dodgers and Angels, both parks are surrounded by parking lots and nothing else. Nothing around Yankee Stadium that is trendy, same with Citi Field. The Phillies have played in south Philly for years, nothing around there, same with Atlanta. The Indians are downtown and after years of great crowds, their attendance is worst than ours. I guess every city is different but if a fan is a true follower of his team it doesn't matter what's around the park unless there are all kinds of criminals hanging around to mug you.
