  1. Billy Pierce first, then Buerhle.
  2. I did some homework on Baseball Reference and AI was wrong about the year, the correct year was 1957 with the Sox on the road from June 18 to July 4th, 20 games in 20 days, record was 9-11, some off days but 3 double headers, visited every city in the A. L. except Cleveland.
  3. Meidroth is one smart player, he can beat you with the bat and glove but he also has something else that other players don’t, it’s called intangibles.
  4. The Rays have big troubles ahead, because the Florida rainy season is from June to October they had way more home games than usual in April and May. August and September will see them on the road most of the time, they have a 2 week 12 game west coast road trip coming up soon which is unheard of in this day and age. Back in the 50s, 2 week road trip were the norm. I remember in 1958 in middle of the summer the Sox had a 3 week road trip for the installation of the new press box at old Comiskey visiting the cities of 6 out of their 7 opponents in the American League. From AI……The Chicago White Sox had a road trip in 1958 during which renovations took place at Comiskey Park, including work on the press box. The renovations involved the installation of a new press box with innovative features like windows that could be hoisted into the ceiling for an open-air experience. This remodel of the Comiskey Park press box in 1958 was considered quite innovative for the time.
  5. I was hoping they’d bring him up earlier but now I’m seeing that the Sox were probably right that he might be a man without a position.
  6. No hustle on Robert as Walls turns a single into a double.
  7. Damn, we’ve had a lot of very hard hit line drives this series that have been caught with right at ems or great catches.
  8. Quero needs to be out there most of the time with Lee the backup. Teach Teel to play 1B and Vargas back to 3B.
  9. If you’re not going to have a Chicago style hot dog you might as well have a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich.
  10. I’ve always liked Josh Lowe but he’s spent a lot of time on the IL in his career.
  11. Tie game! You’re never out of the game in this bandbox.
  12. 1 run game, let’s win this thing.
  13. The throw wasn’t too shabby either.
  14. Taylor Walls is the best fielding shortstop in the League, bad hitter but he’s been better of late.
  15. Robert is hot and you replace him with a another righty hitter, why.
  16. Martin with walks and a balk, really rusty.
  17. The new owner is from Jacksonville and wants a new stadium in Tampa. I agree coming from SW Florida to the Trop on I-75 and the Skyway Bridge was always an easy 90 minutes door to door, If they build a new stadium near Amalie it would add on another half hour to the trip.
