I hope we get to see Baldwin out there everyday, seems like they’re playing games with him. Make Beni the regular DH and put Baldwin in LF and let him swim or sink.

The rest of the pitching was the pits especially the bullpen.

First of all the pitching is much better than last year, league average ERA is 4.04 and the Sox are 4.10, last year we were last with a 4.67 ERA. It’s the hitting that’s killing us, last in OPS, last in BA, second to last in homers, second to last in runs and the list goes on. I thought they were in the process of turning things around with the bats in late May and June but just about all the young prospects have regressed since then. The bats have come around this weekend but we’re playing the Pirates, the Rays are up next and let’s see what they do in TB. Venable is better than Grifol which isn’t saying a lot, he’s had some bad moments but the team hasn’t quit on him and hopefully he gets better with experience. I’m optimistic like you and think the kids will also get better with experience and we should be a .500 team in 2027. Theres also the possibility that Ishiba takes over sooner than 2029 and he goes out and signs some quality free agents which could really help things along.

We have a lot of guys struggling right now, Meidroth, Monty, Teel, and Vargas. Monty did have 2 hits last night but they weren’t well hit.

I thought maybe Schiffren would have figured things out by now, he’s a tad better than last year but only a tad. Sox fans aren’t dumb and we can see with our own eyes what’s going with Vargas and Schiffren has to stop sugar coating things. As for Stone, it’s time for a change.

Not only did I see Allen play with the Sox at Comiskey, I saw him in a Phillies-Dodgers game at Connie Mack Stadium in July of 1967 and also a Mets- Phillies game at Shea Stadium a month earlier.

I agree, for me the best case scenario would be for Robert somehow becoming the 5 tool player he should be and wind up patrolling centerfield for the next 5 years and of course staying healthy. I know the odds are that this isn’t going to happen but one can always dream especially after what we saw last night from.Robert.

At the time those late 60s seasons were abominable for Sox fans but compared to what we’ve seen the last 3 seasons they weren’t all that bad.
