  1. Need to win the next two to tie the pace of the 2013 club. Which then lost eight straight and never came within a sniff of .500 again.
  2. For those of us who missed it, what was the injury to Lindstrom? did it happen on the Error in the ninth? Does Sale take his place as Carroll goes to the bullpen?
  3. Ramirez would have the most value Beckham would be #2 on my list. How about 2 Danks for the price of one package? My guess is Rick Hahn would be told -- Thanks, but no Danks.
  4. Ventura said on radio pre-game show that he has not spoken with Sale yet to see how he bounced back from outing on Friday. Farmer asked if Eaton would be back Sunday. He said: "If hope so." But he also said he would only be back if he was ready to play because they couldn't afford to have guys sit on the bench.
  5. Jacob May has at least a 10-game hitting streak and has battled his way back to .200 after a horrific start. There's some hope, especially if he is a plus defender. Hawkins has definitely shown signs of progress. Pitching is more of a concern to me. Don't see any starters really emerging.
  6. rounds 6-to-10 Dustin DeMuth, left-handed hitting third baseman at Indiana. Has reached base in all but two games this season. stellar glove a senior so he won't go super high and he angered some scouts last season because the Twins took him in sixth round and he didn't sign. but he's worth a shot.
  7. the best thing about this draft is the sox won't take the best available Mr. Tools -- at least not with the first pick. Mitchell now at 50 Ks in 89 at bats -- five years into his pro career. Time to cut the cord - no matter what Buddy Bell says.
  8. With two Ks tonight, Jared Mitchell has 49 Ks in 88 at bats. No words to describe how bad that is.
  9. I can hear Sale arguing that he should make his next appearance with the Sox.
  10. When will Danish debut at Winston-Salem?
  11. as long as it isn't Lance Broadway or Kyle McCullough, I'm fine with either Aiken or Rodon.
  12. Appears that of the three top pitchers only Rodon is a Boras guy, which might be why Law has the Sox taking kolek and rodon going to Cubs. Cubs have drafted Boras guys the last two seasons. Viciedo the Sox only Boras client.
  13. just curious -- how many of the top guys will be represented by Boras? Will that influence who the Sox select?
  14. Two hits for Micah -- dedicated to Keppinger, no doubt.
  15. The good news is that he gawn. The bad news is that it is unlikely they'll also eat Dunn's contract. Maybe Joe Madden will take him back. Fits Tampa's payroll to get him on the ultra cheap -- and he had his best year there. C U Later.
  16. Hawk struggling to remember Mike Sweeney's name.
  17. one more, please.
  18. Preach, Hawk. He's 110 percent right on the schedule.
  19. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 8, 2014 -> 03:05 AM) I didn't catch it... who did Hawk say "may have six tools" according to Steverson? I believe it was Sierra.
  20. the only thing the Cubs have to be excited about is the two homers Kris Bryant hit tonight.
  21. agree with your picks. Only other guys I might have included for honorable mention are: Anderson Engel Dykstra.
  22. happy for #14. earned that moment.
  23. He's better than he showed in April. Glad he's taking the demotion seriously.
  24. Not familiar with this Rizzo fellow.
  25. is their pen any good?
