  1. Danish is the guy to follow from that group.
  2. slightly off topic, but just wondering what Bassitt's injury is? Is he out for the season or will he pitch this season?
  3. Thanks for the interview. This question might have been asked before, but I'll ask it again: Is he related to Lenny Dykstra?
  4. With the third pick in the MLB Free Agent Draft, the Chicago White Sox take the Most Advanced College Pitcher.
  5. Bobby Jenks, please pick up the courtesy phone.
  6. Wendelken with another solid outing -- 6 1/3 innings, four hits, one run, no walks, six Ks.
  7. The good news is the way Scott Carroll has pitched for three straight games. the bad news is that he's been a pro since 2007 and never gotten a sniff of the big leagues. Oh, well.
  8. Not much offense across the farm system today. charlotte and Winston-Salem being shutout and Kannapolis with one run.
  9. This is a serious question: Has Downs had a clean inning all year -- spring training included? If he has, it's one at the most. Lots of signs that he doesn't have it any more. Jones coming back should help. Hopefully Bellasario gets better. Leury Garcia has been a disappointment, especially with the glove. Have to figure Nieto will struggle quite a long time. Can't remember many guys who have jumped from A ball to the bigs, especially a catcher. Have to think he'd be better served by playing every day in the minors, but Hahn must have gotten firm word from the Nationals that they were going to buy him back for $25,000 or ask for something outrageous in a trade.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 03:10 AM) KC Royals still looking for their first HR of the season. They have 0 home runs? wow.
  11. That gives Abreu 11 RBIs, which should have team tied for the AL lead.
  12. Not sure who the Rockies' pitcher is, but he's likely to be in Colorado Springs tomorrow.
  13. Marcus threatening to Wally Pipp Beckham.
  14. Thanks. Went back in to fix, but you beat me to it. save a few of these hits for tomorrow -- and the tribe. It would be nice if the Sox could beat Cleveland more times this weekend that they beat them all of last season. Due. Overdue.
  15. Eaton on base four times. Abreu three-run bomb. Garcia two bombs. Alexei HR. Who could ask for anything more?
  16. Keep an eye on Engel. He has a chance. could have been a big 10 football player but concentrated on baseball. can run, catch and throw. didn't hit last year, but he's been solid as a pro.
  17. The White Sox will sign Jaime Navarro, Todd Ritchie or David Wells before they sign Max Scherzer. No way they irritate Chris Sale by giving somebody from a division rival that much more money.
  18. Any word on how Hawkins has performed this spring?
  19. Hasn't Downs allowed a run in ever appearance this spring -- or, at best, all but one????
  20. Talked with a guy today who works for a prime baseball equipment company and just got back from Phoenix on a spring training trip. He's not a fan of any team, just a guy who has been around baseball for long time. He told me two things worth sharing: *Abreu is the most mature of all the Cuban players who have come over to the U.S. in recent years. Said he was really impressed by his professionalism. *Said he liked the Sox young guys and what Hahn has done. Said the Sox were further along than the Cubs.
  21. DeAza seems like their best chip to deal. He should have some value because of his offense, left-handed bat and ability (didn't say 5-star ability) to play multiple outfield spots. Jordan Danks should be the fourth outfielder. He's making fourth outfielder money and he's a better defender. Here's hoping Hahn gets something done. Sure seems as if they have soured on Phegley.
  22. How can you forget Jared Mitchell? Buddy Bell isn't going to give up until he's hitting third and a perennial AL All-Star.
  23. Sure sounds like the Sox believe that Flowers is considerably ahead of Phegley as a receiver, thrower and handler of pitchers because offensively both guys are meh. so you go with the better defensive player and let the guy with options try to improve his issues in the minors because he has options. it's an issue, but not surprising for a team with a ceiling of third place. My guess is finding a catcher is on Line 1 or 2 of Hahn's Things To Do List.
