  1. Thanks for the entertainment. kind of makes you forget the Sox have lost five straight and eight of nine.
  2. 56-106 in 1970. Probably out of reach, but ...
  3. Have the Sox ever lost 100?
  4. This really, really is the Season From Hell. Nothing close.
  5. We're going to get that number two pick. We're determined.
  6. Alex Rios, White Sox for life.
  7. finally a reason to be excited again. Something is going to happen other than the games.
  8. It's Pittsburgh. Pirates not a team eager to take on future salary obligations. Hahn knows he has to bring some fresh blood into this mix and change the vibe of the team. He's going to get crushed if he does nothing. Also knows this is his first big at-bat. He wants to be perceived as "winning" some of these deals. Bottom Line: He knows Sox fans want Rios out. He also knows he has to get a prospect people can get at least somewhat excited about. To do that, he's going to have to help Pittsburgh cover a chunk of that 2014 salary.
  9. Arnie Munoz? Ball one. Ball two. Ball three. Ball four. Ball five. Ball ...
  10. Sox are reportedly getting a novice who did back-up work on college beats and covered high school stuff. Draw your own conclusions. But I'd suggest looking elsewhere for coverage.
  11. I was hoping for Todd Ritchie or Aaron Myette.
  12. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 05:01 AM) mlb.com... Getting ready for football season. Never tried one of those guys. Wonder how it will work out?
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 12:38 AM) As a Rays fan, I hope they wouldnt give up any of those 3 for a 2-3 month rental. Really goes against what they've done the past few years. If Crain gets you to a World Series (or more), he'll be worth it.
  14. as badly as the Tigers want to win, not much of an upgrade.
  15. Too bad Kenny Williams isn't GM for another team.
  16. Yep, Baltimore hot for Peavy, too. Rick Hahn -- you're holding the cards. Better play them better than Alex Rios played that ball Keppinger hit. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/jon-heym...ng-peavy-others
  17. But could Semien tag up and score from third in the ninth inning?
  18. Semien HR off Archie Bradley and three walks tonight. rollin.
  19. Think positive. If the Sox lose this game, they'll be within one of the Marlins and the second draft pick.
  20. A much better story on Semien. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=2...lb&sid=milb
  21. not much insight about him from this story in Birmingham paper, but it does include video of him making a nice play charging the ball and getting the hitter on a swinging bunt last night. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/07...4_for_4_as.html
  22. Phegley was awfully anxious at the plate tonight but at least he realized that. He's got a chance to be a solid big-league catcher.
  23. Thanks.
