  1. we're only behind 29-6 the last three days. three touchdowns and we're in the game. and the Tigers are probably scared s***less about coming to town. they're afraid they'll get ripped if they only beat us four times.
  2. who was the blonde in the radio booth with singleton and farmio?
  3. truth is count actually gave up 12 runs. mr. potato head bats second for SF next inning.
  4. wassy, you're not Bret Prinz or Andy Sisco or David Aardsma.
  5. somebody tell wassermann that will never work in this pen.
  6. This isn't bevington waving in a pitcher who hasn't warmed up. but it's in the same zipcode. what was the point of letting Count pitch the eighth? somebody defend it. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  7. saving the pen for the Tigers' ass kicking next week. good news: Ortiz strained right shoulder. might not play tomorrow.
  8. better score at least two -- if not 3 here
  9. Wily Mo, another man without a position. never proven he can be a consistent run producer. no, no, no.
  10. isn't that 4 home runs for sweeney this week?
  11. my thoughts on this bullpen are simple: KW trusted in guys he had no reason to trust. Call the freakin role. Sisco? We'd seen him pitch in the division for two years. He had no command and no consistency. What reason was there to believe it was going to change? He needs a lot of work in the minors to fix some mechanical issues -- and he might never make it. Aardsma? The Cubs sent him up and down a million times last year. The Giants had already dumped him. one-trick pony with a straight fastball. Wasn't hard to envision what was going to happen and did. Masset. Control problems in the minor leagues. Why would anybody think that he would come to the majors the start throwing strikes? I don't care how hard you throw. If you're always behind 2-0 and your fastball is straight, you got no chance against good hitters. I'll give him Jenks, Logan, Thornton and even MacDougal (the biggest disappointment) for a foundation. But building a bullpen around Sisco, Aardsma and Masset was simply foolish -- and KW got burned big-time.
  12. owens has got to be kenny williams' idea. he traded for him and loves him. And like Williams himself, Owens is a former football player. i blame kw more than ozzie here we go. rally time didn't we beat these guys in the ninth inning last year on the road on a Gload homer in the ninth?
  13. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 14, 2007 -> 12:47 AM) Great swings by Owens. owens is not a major league player. They obviously hate Anderson (who has injury problems) and don't want to give Sweeney more service time until he is more seasoned. but owens is garbage.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 14, 2007 -> 12:42 AM) Don't know if anyone heard this on the radio today, but a reporter said a certain player has been a distraction in the clubhouse all year due to the uncertainty of his contract. meaning jd? couldn't be iguchi.
  15. bedard is very good. give him credit. three called strikes in a inning, give credit to pitcher.
  16. jd playing his way to a trade with another good game?
  17. long before today, i loved the guy for pitching relief in Game three of the world series. and sliding across the tarp. being nice to fans. and always volunteering to catch the pre-game first pitch. seems like a really decent guy. Glad we're keeping him.
  18. Thanks to Jerry Reinsdorf and Kenny Williams for making me eat my words. after years of watch Black Jack, Alex Fernandez, Robin Ventura, Magglio and so many other guys leave unhappily, I'm glad they decided to keep one of the good guys around.
  19. thank you javy. you've pitched very, very well lately.
  20. take a seat and tighten the rubber bands in your braces, torii.
  21. they've already taken the guys in the bullpen to the grayhound station so they can go home for the break. Javy said told him if anybody is going to mess this up, it's me, skip.
  22. 99 pitches for Javy he gets this inning. then we cross our fingers and pray.
  23. fast game. players swinging early in the count. got flights outta town to get away from this train wreck for the all-star break.
