  1. should have been a triple but ramirez just starting jogging in the with relay. Teahen kept running. by the time Ramirez realized what was up, it was OVAH. Paulie gets a chance to whiff in the ninth.

  3. brutal. enjoy the flight to DFW guys.
  4. Paulie will beat himself up more than anybody on the team. then he'll try too hard the next three days and probably make it worse. Not hitting, not fielding, not too pleasant to be around would be my guess. Only good news is he's killed us all season and we've survived his horribleness.
  5. my guess is Cowley has other sources on the team who tell him OC is a jerk.
  6. Cabrera needs to get into Konerko's s*** real quick.
  7. be interesting to see what ozzie or any of the players say about the tiff or if everybody hides in the training room.
  8. Hawk said OC had nothing to apologize for because he got himself in position to score on a sac fly with one out. Feisty said he understood why JD would be annoyed by OC jumping around out by second base. Hawk said we needed the run and we got it. advantage hawk
  9. futures game should be sunday at Yankee STadium Triple A all-star game is next wednesday in Louisville
  10. what kind of message does that send to Fields if you get blake for insurance at 3b? maybe we can simply reacquire Gio Gonzalez. or Sandy Alomar.
  11. he can't move javier castillo out of the lineup
  12. isn't that Gordon Beckham sitting in the Sox dugout in the black sweatshirt?
  13. Toby needs to deliver over the last three months. so far the weather has been cool. when the heat settles in, AJ will need more rest.
  14. sowers stuff is similar to marshall. Hopefully that will help.
  15. playing for the league minimum makes Getz a very attractive option next season.
  16. I think Getz is a very valuable guy. can play a bunch of positions, including the outfield. And he will do it at bargain basement prices for the next three years. That's important. With the reasonable amount we'll be paying Ramirez and potentially Getz, that gives more payroll flexibility to replace Thome next season with either a new DH or a right fielder so Jermaine can DH or play 1b as Paulie moves to DH. guys who can hit close to .300, play multiple spots and get paid league minimum are valuable,. And who knows, he could win the 2B job. Any word on how good he is in the field?
  17. we need konerko -- and Thome -- to each get on a nice two or three-week roll. That said, Paulie does not make the throw to first to double off the runner in the ninth inning that Swish made last night,
  18. Paulie ain't had much luck staying healthy this year. maybe the down town will help his hand, too.
  19. was watching Baseball tonight. I heard Gammons say that he thought Kenny Williams would stand pat at the trading deadline, unless a pitcher got hurt. But then I thought I heard him say that Paul Konerko had a setback this weekend. Is that so? And if so, what's the setback?
  20. The Cubs swept the Sox at US Cellular last year. I think I'm picking up on a pattern here. it blows.
  21. if they don't find a better way to pitch to Ramirez, it ain't gonna be much better next weekend. Either walk him. change the pattern. Or drop him. the plan they're using is broken.
  22. I couldn't agree more. Getting trainwrecked at Wrigley was the team-wide reminder of Torii Hunter running over Jamie Burke in 04. How this team responds next weekend in their own ball park will tell us much about the second half of the season. That's 8 losses in 9 games to Piniella since he took over. enough to make me question if interleague play is worth it.
  23. we'll struggle to score in LA. pitcher's park. not a lot of homers. west coast, where we have struggled against good teams. next week could be really grim. as for Ramirez, I agree. Either pitch him differently or knock his fat ass off the plate. for all the s*** Walker takes, Coop needs to answer about the problem with Ramirez.
  24. no matter if the Sox win or lose today, it's going to be a grind all the way into September. We need to find a leadoff man and more consistent hitting. And I'm not sure that's possible.
  25. was a stud all season in the SEC and did well with a wooden bat in Cape Cod league last summer. only negative I've heard was that he went undrafted in high school three years ago. just hope he's better than Jason Dellaero!!
