I know nothing about him. Is he a prospect?

Man, Crews and Langford look so good. When Sox had high picks, they were in mediocre drafts. Sometimes, you’ve got to be lucky.
-
Sox weak farm system can only get one guy into the futures game. Sigh.
-
Kiley McDaniel has a new mock up in which he says Scott Boras seems to be pushing Crews to his old business partner the Nationals. He has zero intel on the Sox pick and hands them Tommy Troy for no reason after saying they're on Houck and Miller. Both are still on his board, but he gives them Troy. Make of it what you will. https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/37914283/2023-mlb-mock-draft-kiley-mcdaniel-predicts-top-picks

Fisher has given up 6 runs, 3 earned in 2 innings. Pitching depth! Mena walked 5 in 4 innings, but he struck out 8. At least one of those walks was unearned after Hackenberg dropped a pop up.
-
Man, this HP umpire has given the Red Sox a ton of calls.
-
Speed kills.
-
Robert watched that one and it rolled over the top of the wall. Take it, though.
-
Kutter Crawford with 29 pitches through 3. Is he on his way to a no-hit Maddux?
-
Wow, that Banks outing could really have gone worse. Red Sox blew a couple of great opportunities. If only the Sox offense could make anyone pay.
-
Wow. Compare and contrast the approaches of these two teams. Red Sox taking some tough pitches. They've gotten a couple of calls go their way and now they've got a rally.
-
This team comes pre-doomed.
-
Sox have seen 17 pitches through 2. Their lack of approach is grooved.
-
It's about to be different. Sox had a huge hole in pitching in the upper minors. Some of that is related to the abbreviated 2020 draft. There will be a lot more starting options in 2024-2025, which they will need. I will say, complaining that they started Banks instead of Scholtens is a pick your AAAA poison situation.

McDougal done for the day 4.0IP 3H 1R 1ER 1bb 3K. Topped out at 97, sat 94, good breaking ball. Simas going for W-S. Tagged for 2ER on 3H in the first. HR Chapelli.

Burke is a great defensive centerfielder. Makes all the routine plays, gets great jumps, he almost made the most incredible catch I've ever seen. I can see the Adam Engel comparisons, but he's been better at the plate than Engel ever was in the minors.
-
You'd think, but W-S has Veras, Gladney, and Goosenberg splitting ab's at 1b, so maybe they feel there's no room at the Inn. I can imagine them promoting Veras/Gladney once the Southern League is finished with that stupid pre-tacked ball. What a competitive disadvantage for teams that have affiliates in that circuit.

https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox McDougal going for Kanny. They lead 3-0. Double for Burke, HR for Elko.

It is no coincidence that the Sox have lagged in data-driven analytics and that their opponents have outcompeted them. There is a book on this entire group of hitters: throw them sliders out of the zone. They will swing. Rinse. Repeat. I look forward to Colson Montgomery cuz he’s a little different, but Sosa, Colas, Popeye, and to some extent Ramos all fit that mold. Jury is out on Burke because his K rate is better than expected, but they are building another generation of the exact same thing. That is why I am vehemently opposed to them drafting Yohandy Morales.

Comas 4IP 2H 0R 0ER 1bb 3k. This conversion just might work. Still interested to know how hard he throws.
-
Montgomery now 3-3, 2 doubles, 2 walks. Burrowes up to 8 errors already.

New mock out from Mayo. He has Sox taking Chase Davis? Aiden Miller still on the board. I think the way these things work is they assign the dumbest choice possible to the Sox, then work backwards. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-pipeline-2023-mock-draft-june-22
