  1. If trading Gio to the Astros (I know, but they have a huge need) I'd ask for Ryan Clifford. Otherwise, their system is meh.
  2. Yeah, not getting Miller now for TA and/or Gio. Stone has been brutal in the majors and AAA and Pepiot is hurt. I would go for Rushing.
  3. Barons score 2 in the 6th and hold on to win 11-10.
  4. Birmingham's horrible np pen has blown a 9-3 lead. They trail 10-9 in the bottom of the 6th of a 7 inning game.
  5. Charlotte pouring it on. 2 HR for Reyes, 1 each for Haseley and Perez. Granny for Eric Gonzalez. Bullpen day for them. Everyone was good except Colome who walked 3 and gave up 2 runs. My personal punching bag AJ Alexy struck out the side in his only inning. 10-2 Knights.
  6. Popeye 2 ab's, 2 HR. This time a 3-run shot.
  7. Birmingham lost game 1 of the DH 2-1. Matt Thompson struck out 8, but he walked 4. Was lucky to only give up 2 runs. Popeye lead off game 2 with a HR. First AA start for Brooks Gosswein. He's been better this year at W-S. Lefty with decent stuff but inconsistent command.
  8. Charlotte up 7-0. They took a bunch of walks and then a blast. Nice to see someone in the org not hacking at everything.
  9. Now Scholtens has pitched in back-to-back games, so who's going to pitch Monday? Bullpen day? Unless Lynn throws a 9-inning gem, those guys are all fried. They have a roster spot because they have not moved Davis Martin to the 60-day. Fisher? Roll the bones and bring up Burke?
  10. Maybe the Sox need to pull an Oakland and get rid of the talented players who don't care and field a line up of Remilliard, Mondou, Haseley, Reyes, Perez etc. They would suck, but at least they would put some effort into it. That last Robert ab made me want to puke.
  11. Huh? Who the hell is starting in Clevinger's place if Scholtens is pitching now? Also, Scholtens is the closer to break your losing streak?
  12. Goddamn, that was the worst at bat ever.
  13. Remilliard 2-2 w/RISP everyone else, 1-15.
  14. Yeah, they didn't give him a Spring Training. He pitched like 2 simulated games and they threw him into the season. Imagine if he had a rehab assignment to begin the year instead of getting crushed in April.
  15. 2-15 with RISP. I wonder why they’re about to be 12 under.
  16. Soxtalk really ought to start a minor league board where all of these issues could be discussed.
  17. Crochet was 98 in the previous outing. I think everyone has to be patient with his recovery.
  18. This team swings at more non-competitive pitches than any team in history.
  19. Schweitzer done for Kanny. Another good outing 4.2IP 4H 1R 1ER 3bb 8K. Burke 1-2 bb double rbi. Both of those guys should be headed to A+ soon.
  20. DSL lost 4-2. Nunez, 2-3, bb, HR, CS. Ysalla gave up 2 unearned runs for the loss, but his ERA is still 0.00.
  21. I believe this ends the "Jake Burger, second baseman" dream. Now there will be a long stretch to see if Jake can be a starting 3b.
  22. Man, TA bases loaded grounder to ss/3b is one of the safest prop bets in existence.
  23. Dash put up 4 in the 7th. Now lead 6-4.
  24. Bottom of the 6th, Kath breaks up the perfect game with a double. Dash losing 4-0.
  25. I'm happy for Remillard, but I will point out that he's a 29 year-old hitting .229 with a .682 OPS in the launching pad that is Charlotte. Adding him to the 40 man is further evidence that the cupboard is absolutely bare.
