2024 MLB Draft Order (Reverse Standings)
I don't love next year's class as far as picking #1. Doesn't seem to have a Wemby/Bedard/Skenes-Crews type there. Since they're gonna suck for a while now, might it be luckier to get the super high pick in 2025 when Ethan Holliday is available?

I think I've fallen in love with the Cincinnati Reds
CES 2-2 w/HR playing 3b. Maybe he's better than I thought.

7/18 Games
Birmingham roared back from 7-1 down to win 9-8.

7/18 Games
Montgomery is still in the line up for W-S, which for me is a little ????

7/18 Games
Ump in Kanny game suuucks. Murphy just gave up a single after a non-called strike 3 got the whole plate.

7/18 Games
Watching Kanny. Shane Murphy has been touched for 2 runs in 2 innings. He's been getting squeezed by the ump (HR after a non-called strike 3), but what's really shocking is how bad the position players are. Baldwin is a tier 3 prospect and almost no one else should ever make it out of A ball. 2023 draftees can't get there fast enough.

Updated MLB Farm System Rankings After 2023 MLB Draft
No one gives draft grades anymore, so reranking the farm system before any of the draftees play an inning is a complete clown move.

I don't prefer college guys with his contact issues. Sox are not the org to fix him.

White Sox Winner Again!
Before we get too excited that this club has turned the corner keep in mind they were one pitch away from losing on Saturday and Sunday's starter, Koby Allard, just went on the 60 day IL. So they can pummel injured pitchers. Unfortunately, the Mets and Twins aren't that good either. I hope to God they are not dumb enough to keep this team together if they happen to have one decent road trip.

He did. Maybe they're hosting a rookie mini-camp there. They have done that in previous years at Birmingham. There's no way he starts his career in A ball.

Wolkow is practically an international signing - $1 million, 17 years old. Gonna take a lot of development and may never get out of complex league, but I think it's an interesting upside play. Will be fascinating regardless of outcome.

7/17 Games
DSL suspended due to weather. ACL ended early due to weather, won 5-1. Burrowes 2-3, 3b 2 sb. Ronny Hernandez 2b, Guariman 2-3.

Cleveland smoking the Pirates. That's a team that has fallen off a cliff. Seems like the Sox caught a lot of teams during their hottest stretch of the year. Even Tampa has come back to Earth in the last few weeks.

Gavin Sheets has the most runners advancing on him
Well, there goes his chances for a Gold Glove.

BA has their 2024 top 100. I am Team Bazzana if the Sox get the top pick. Please no to Honeycutt. https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/2024-top-100-draft-prospects/?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=email

2023 MLB Draft thread
Baseball draft is all about leverage. Taylor was a draft-eligible sophomore, meaning if he didn’t get a number, he could go back to LSU next year. Gonzalez was a Junior. If he didn’t sign, he’d be lowballed next year as a senior.

7/16 Games
Adisyn Coffey gets out of it with minimal damage in his AA debut. 13-2 now. Thompson 5IP 3H 2R 2ER 6bb 4K, honestly should have been worse.
-
7/16 Games
Birmingham is leading 13-1, another relatively good start for Thompson, but once again at various times he loses all ability to throw strikes. 4 walks in one inning led to their run and now he's just walked the first 2 guys in the 6th. 6 bb in 5IP is not going to cut it.

7/16- White Sox at Braves, 12:35
Is Scholtens officially a reliever now? So their starter depth is Touki and ???
-
7/16 Games
Despite the granny, W-S lost because of three unearned runs last night then 4 walks as soon as the game resumed. Gosswein is not going to make it.

7/16- White Sox at Braves, 12:35
Compare the games played by TA, Moncada, Eloy, and Robert to the top of the Braves line up. They play every game, probably why they're in first.

Sheets continues his bad luck. 105 off the bat.

I am counting the days until I no longer have to watch Grandal.

Kannapolis Game
I see your point, but I think they have to work him up to 85 pitches before they consider moving him. At this point, it’s like he’s pitching in an all star game every week. Let him go through an order 3 times at least once just for development purposes.
