I remember thinking Stir the Drink was gonna be the thing we latched onto in 2015. Walk around the Loop, see somebody in a Sox hat, stir the drink, you've both bonded over your fun contending team. That's how I imagined it would go. Yes, I'm a dork. As with everything else, it comes down to winning. If the team is bad, all the meme stuff that would normally be fun just makes you grumpy. When the team gets consistently good again, that type of thing will come back.

The flexibility looks cool, there are a bunch of different ways you can take it on the road and play but it looks like it would be pretty awkward using those tiny, chintzy-looking controllers. I haven't purchased any Nintendo hardware since the Gamecube and I doubt this is gonna reel me in. I'm not into the gimmicks. I just wanna sit on my couch with a controller. Seems like a good idea for them to unite their (very successful) mobile and their (not-so-successful) home console sides, though. I'm sure it appeals to plenty of people out there. The trailer did show a new Mario game for a second there!
