Wow. Lime Green walls at the new park? They just really want to be made fun of even more dont they?

QUOTE (coco1997 @ Mar 31, 2012 -> 09:55 PM) Trayce Thompson is white.... He's mixed...

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 31, 2012 -> 11:20 AM) And with that said, Nate Jones is probably the most likely to be sent down first. Oh, totally. But at least give him a shot. He's young with a power arm. It'd be dumb not to see what they had in him in a rebuild year. Bruney had his chance and it's not like he was gonna be the difference maker in the AL Central... As far as African American players, didn't the Red Sox not have one until like a long time after everyone else integrated? And even after rarely have any black players on their team? Or am I making this up? haha

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 31, 2012 -> 11:03 AM) I kind of feel bad for Bruney. It's hard to do much better than what he did. Some people blow the doors off in Spring Training, make the team, and take that right on into the season and contribute to the big club. Some people blow the doors off in Spring Training, make the team, and s*** the bed when the bell rings. Based on last season, Bruney would have been the latter...

The correct choice

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) I'm going to predict that we see Nathan Jones a lot earlier than expected. The guy's consistently hitting 97 MPH with his fastball, whereas Bruney's much lower, unless he's working on a sinker that we don't know about, as opposed to the four seam riding FB. At any rate, Jones has a LOT more potential, if he can control that mid 80's slider. We know what we're getting out of Bruney. We saw it last year. He's not a pitcher. Jones is younger, and it'd be nice to see what they have in him. The team isn't competing so it'd be nice to see if Jones can hack it. Develop a nice young hard throwing bullpen core: Reed, Jones, Santiago

I'd prefer Jones over Bruney

Lefties killing Stults... So yeah, HE GAWN.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 06:06 PM) No, I think they're just doing the game for MLB.com. Normally, on the RSN, it should be Bob David and Ryan Levebvre, the one who got into it with Milton Bradley and the manager's son. They were talking about them as if they're the new team. This feed is FS Kansas City...

Ugh... I hate Physioc and Hudler and now they're the Royals broadcasters...

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) No. If you have MLB.TV it is... Royals broadcast...

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 30, 2012 -> 08:43 AM) I'm extremely worried about Viciedo's future, because he tends to be a slow starter anyway, and this team has an annoying history of rapidly turning people who start off struggling into platoon players because the veteran on the bench needs his at-bats. I really hope that was strictly an Ozzie thing. Respecting veterans (and Latin veterans like Omar) too much and seemingly having issues with Rookies. As a rookie manager I would HOPE Robin would have sympathy. Especially with his slow start from his past....

Either use the half of the lot McCourt doesn't own or find a new site, but the Dodgers need a new stadium badly. Dodger Stadium is a freaking dump in an iffy part of LA that families are afraid to go to now since the incident last season. New ownership combined with a nice new modern stadium would do wonders for that franchise...

Yahoo! Sports AL Central Preview... Pretty much on par with everything else anyone has said. This part made me laugh however: Sale >>>>>>>>>> Clayton "5 innings of okay, followed by complete collapse" Richard

Hey, can we stop micing that freakin kid... Jesus...
-
Cooper way out of breath just talking. That can't be healthy...

Sale looking absolutely filthy. 5 K's through 2 IP Hard not to get excited about him...

Sale made Kemp look bad...

Has someone ever emailed Brooks and ask why the sox seem to think it's okay to let a crazy old man announce games? I mean, s***, I know the webcast is free and we should be thankful but could we get someone just a little more professional? Or is it mandatory to have a former player involved in EVERY ASPECT of the team? haha

QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 05:29 AM) Part of the problem is that he couldn't throw some of his stuff without the poor mechanics. If he corrects it, he'll have fewer problems but the stuff won't be there. Which is why he never will... Unless he keeps getting hurt (which he probably will) and is forced to, but it may be too late at that point

Danks & Floyd would need to step up BIG time to anchor the rotation with the other 3 guys questions marks of health and durability. They can't be the same maddeningly inconsistent/generally average starters they've been the past three seasons...

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 25, 2012 -> 06:57 PM) I didn't see this anywhere else, but this is a great read on pitching mechanics and tommy john surgery, including ridiculuing the idea of a problem by Cooper. So baseball, lots of ballplayers are rich and stubborn. Instead of doing something to fix what's causing your injury you just fall back on surgery. There is no doubt in my mind Stras will get hurt again in his career. Probably TJ again. Which sucks cause his stuff is fun to watch...

Another issue I wann bring up that needs to be adressed is something Hawk alluded to the other day: Keeping your foot on the throat of your opponent. This happens in two ways the Sox seem to have kept doing the last few years: 1.) Scoring early in the game, then easing up and letting the other team slowly get back into it. This can result in a win or a loss and actually both are not ideal results. For an example of a win that hurt see opening day 2011. Ozzie pulling players on opening freakin day?! The Indians get back in the game, but still lose. Teams goes in opposite direction for the next 2 months. 2.) Not being able to sweep a series. Winning the first two games of a series and taking it easy on the final game. Either by resting a lot of starters and playing the bench or just playing corpseball for whatever reason (next day is a travel day, looking forward to te next series etc.) Winning the last game of a series is something I think is essential to building a winning atmosphere. Winning series' is great, but there is nothing more frustrating than a W-W-L series win. W-L-W, L-W-W are both preferable. (As would W-W-W but it can't happen every series) Hell even losing 2 of 3 and winning that last game somehow feels better to me haha..

We pretty much know the squad going North this year sans a few spots. Here's the April Schedule: 3 @ TEX 3 @ CLE 3 VS. DET 4 VS. BALT 3 @ SEA 3 @ OAK 4 VS. BOS Whadda ya got? I have them at 9-14 ( and that's me being optimistic haha)
