  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 25, 2012 -> 02:39 PM) It also shows you if you have a gigantic contract, you aren't getting released. Even when that contract is done I bet he'll bounce around the league awhile. Maybe a long man in the pen or 5th starter on terrible teams or a LOOGY. Something like that. But obviously for waaaaaay less money
  2. No panic if there's a slow start, Kenny? Um, no. The lack of urgency and slow starts are what doomed the Sox the last two years. If they start slow again, we damn well better worry.
  3. I'm gonna bring what has been brought up in the Game Thread for today into this thread. Basically, is Robin's heart in this/would he quit after a really tough season? Discuss....
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 25, 2012 -> 02:15 PM) Robin doesn't strike me as the type to resign even if he feels like it's the right move...unless a serious family thing crops up. Spend more time with his family? It's hard to tell if Robin is just very calm in regards to managing (like a Manuel...ugh...) or his heart really isn't that into it...
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 25, 2012 -> 02:06 PM) If it makes you feel better, I've thought a few times that Robin is one and done as a manager with regards to tenure. I don't think KW or JR would fire Robin, but if this season goes into disaster mode with the Sox losing 95 or even 100 losses, I could see Robin resigning.
  6. Zito hasn't been good in almost 10 years now and he's still in the bigs. Shows you how valuable you are if you throw with your left hand....
  7. I'm glad Hawk is making it clear to the fans and hopefully Robin that Viciedo is a slow starter his whole career. So no benching him if he struggles in April and May.... He has nothing left to prove in AAA. Let him fail or succeed in the bigs...
  8. I'm watching on MLB.Tv is this game being broadcast in HD? Cause it doesnt look as crystal clear as it could be. But with mlb.tv it's kinda hard to tell sometimes... like if it's my internet connection or the feed not being in HD
  9. I'm know I'm late (probably LAST) to the party. But thinking about the Cubs futility (and giggling about it) I realized that the Cubs have never won a World Series while playing at Wrigley Field. Every playoff series they've ever played while having home games at Wrigley they've been eliminated. That kinda feeds more to the theory that Wrigley is a contributing to the Cubs futility. So my question after trying to find this info on B-R.com, is what is the Cubs' all time home record at Wrigley Field?
  10. Beckham's swing looks TERRIBLE. Jeez... Buzzkill to that awesome inning..
  11. Fun game. In those appreciate the game commercials, watch the players hands. You can tell how nervous they are. Crain is the worst I've see. Hawks gota really twitchy right thumb as well...
  12. Back-to-Back. AJ hits a laser out into the bullpen
  13. DUNN f***ing CRUSHED that ball. Damn good to see...
  14. Uh oh. Sox vs. Chen tomorrow. Better be the opening day line up out there. Wanna see if it's still Cy Chen
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 03:17 PM) Stults with 4 innings. Bruney with 2 scoreless. He's probably making the team. Probably down to Axelrod or Stewart. The rest is Bruney, Ohman, Santiago, Reed, Crain, and Thornton. That is if Crain is ready. 11-2 Sox, 7th Leyson Septimo in now. I think he's been a nice surprise this spring. UHHHHGGGGHHHH. I don't CARE what he's doing in Spring Training. He's proven he can't get it done in the bigs. Some players look great and ST and it doesn't translate to the regular season. He is one of them.
  16. Dammit this might mean rethinking Cabrera at third. I wanted to see that disaster this season
  17. So Sale goes 6 strong and a line-up consisting of a lot of opening day starters can't do s*** against a mediocre opposing pitcher making him look better than he is.... Hmmmm. That sounds awfully familiar. No doubt a sign of things to come this season....
  18. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) There already is a T-Bone. We'll call him KoKo
  19. Wilson Valdez beats the Sox... haha gotta love it.
  20. Let's see if the garbage farm can steal another win...
