Tim Anderson
Timmy needs bigger glasses I think?

When the Sox are ready to contend in 2019/2020, who is the manager?
I definitely don't think any manager would make this team a winner obviously...

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 25, 2017 -> 05:15 PM) The way he runs a bullpen is mind boggling. If Robin was still here, the pitchforks would be out, but they aren't trying to win, so you might as well keep him around and hope with more talent his decisions make more sense. If not launch him then. At this point he is fine. I feel bad for Alen Hanson. His kids are going to be teased about their father being PH for by Kevan Smith. Totally agree

When the Sox are ready to contend in 2019/2020, who is the manager?
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 25, 2017 -> 04:43 PM) My hope is Rick Renteria. Why? Getting swept by a team with the worst record in the American league, and his team looking mentally unprepared?

June 25th Game Thread: White Sox vs. A's
I thought Renteria was good at the mental part of this game maybe.... after this teams performance against a bad team... maybe not so much.
-
Buehrle Day
Ricky should have ran himself to games in a row.. because his team didn't look mentally ready to play either day. Bad at bats, poor defense... ejections. Pretty solid really.
-
Buehrle Day
Shields is like a slow pitch softball pitcher... Once you just get used to waiting its launch city.
-
Buehrle Day
This team should have stayed on the road.... Two days in a row just looking like a pile of turds.
-
6/23 vs Oakland A's
They look out of it mentally in every way tonight... I guess it happens.

Is this off-season the time to add a cheap 1b?
C'mon... yeah yeah the gold glove probably doesn't always go to the best defender. I've been around the gold glove arguments plenty of times.... But a poor defender? I have trouble believing that. Over its history I'd say a larger portion of the winners are great to good to avg.. I know about derek Jeter...

Is this off-season the time to add a cheap 1b?
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 09:57 AM) Given what he will likely get in free agency and the actual value he would add, Hosmer might be the worst player they could sign. The only thing that's changed from this year compared to last is a little better luck on batted balls. Also, Hosmer is not very good defensively, as in, just as bad if not worse than Abreu. I agree with much of this post... but the defense Is that sarcasm about the defense? Hosmer won the gold glove at 1B 3 straight years...

Tim Anderson
He has looked pretty horrible a lot of the time. It's too early to give up on him, but yeah he needs to figure a lot of things out. At the moment he doesn't have what it takes.
-
6/21 at Twinkies: Holmberg verse Berrios
Anderson is one of the easiest outs I see all year. He needs to hit the bench for awhile and figure some crap out.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 08:29 PM) Don't kid yourself. Anderson is the Sox shortstop. We may complain about how he has lapses from time to time, but he is young and learning. Might have been rushed to the big leagues though Very true he is the white sox shortstop...can't argue with that. For the future... I'm not sold on that at all... maybe.

Cafardo: Cardinals interested in Avi
No one is going to give us anything good enough to make it worthwhile for a guy with that track record. That is why you likely keep him for now.
-
Cafardo: Cardinals interested in Avi
Wouldn't really make sense to trade him when he is as young as he is and finding himself... What we could get in return for him is doubtful to be worth letting it ride on him for now. He could end up being a wash.. but even so it makes more sense to keep him for now.

Game Day from Toronto June 17th at 12:07 PM CDT
Sox are hot at the moment.... The bunting worked but I still hate it... its really the first time in like that it worked all your.

Renteria is a horrible in-game manager
baseball strategy is definitely not Renteria strength.

Renteria is a horrible in-game manager
Renteria needs to read one of the many articles like this https://theocho.ca/sacrifice-bunting-is-sac...ls-57bd2ae22798

June 10th Game Thread: White Sox @Cleveland Indians
yeah these announcers are impressive to me.

I don't really blame Todd so much as Renteria trying to encourage this running culture which is failing miserably.

June 9th Game Thread: White Sox at Cleveland Indians
QUOTE (Scoots @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 09:18 PM) I didn't even realize that...but they dont have knee guards do they? Only shin guards I thought...regardless. Also, nice 2 innings there by Jennings. Dominant actually. Wish our starters could do that. It hit him right below the knee... if you look at avi he has guards that go all the way up to his knees.
-
June 9th Game Thread: White Sox at Cleveland Indians
Also what a terrible at bat by Avi... Also Abreu needs to start wearing guards... stands right on top of the plate with nothing - it's only a matter of time.
-
June 9th Game Thread: White Sox at Cleveland Indians
A strong part of me wants to drill Encarnion in the knee... eventhough I know miller didn't mean to do that. You possible take out our best hitter for the series... someone has pay.

miquel has fallen apart... also what a dumb ass walk... I mean just wow.
