  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) This would be the worst news of all. I kinda think if they decide to sign Raburn, he'd be part of a platoon in LF possibly taking them out of Cespedes.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 08:48 AM) Hated that channel. Any radio station that features Kaplan and Haugh as their superstars is garbage in my book Never really caught the morning show (they were on from 9-12 I believe) but I loved the afternoon guys.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 08:42 AM) Iirc he won the Score contest to be an on air talent. He also jumped to the Game which was an unfortunate decision I LOVED The Game. Was so sad when it went off the air.
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 08:38 AM) Connor McKnight will be the host of Pre and Post and White Sox weekly on WLS for the White Sox. I like the hire. Connor is young and really knows baseball. He's very interactive with the fans and should be a welcome addition. http://www.robertfeder.com/2016/01/11/robs...n-deck-for-wls/ Anyone > Chris Rongey
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 10, 2016 -> 07:26 AM) On the other hand, it's too early to say anyone has really been hurt until they actually sign. It just takes one team to crack...for the rest of the dominoes to quickly fall. Yeah I didn't mean to say that. Meant that being the reason they're still unsigned.
  6. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Jan 10, 2016 -> 07:12 AM) Both Cespedes and Upton have yet to be signed by anybody. Yet somebody like Shark signed with the Giants for some serious money. (I'm so glad he's not on the 2016 White Sox) Both of these guys are considered major talents but still nobody has signed them. Is there some reason why nobody has signed these guys? Are they trouble makers? It doesn't make any sense to me. I would love to have either of them on the White Sox. Having one of them would make the White Sox serious 2016 Playoff contenders. I'm hoping that something can be worked out between one of them and the White Sox. Because everyone who spent this off season spent on pitching. And Yankees were not involved with anyone. And a lot of teams close enough to luxury tax to point where they were not interested. Just a deep free agent class is why these guys remain unsigned.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 9, 2016 -> 10:25 PM) It was actually in a DM from a user on there. Like I said, that's probably not the reason why nothing is happening, but it's an interesting point that I hadn't thought about before. It would be a very stupid reason to hold off. If they wanted it to have any connection to Soxfest, they'd get it done ASAP and get more interest and excitement going into the team making people want to be at Soxfest.
  8. Doubt they'd wait that long. If anything they'd want to announce it before to get more people excited and wanting to go to Soxfest.
  9. I believe the Red Sox had interest in him as well and had Abreu waited about a month or so, I think he would have ended up there (they were in the post season when Abreu signed so signing him really wasn't an option).
  10. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 9, 2016 -> 11:51 AM) I think the agents of Cespedes and Upton need to keep in mind that there are more sellers than buyers so if they want to play games, let em. Plenty of alternatives to choose from on the trade market which is why those two players have yet to receive the offer they are looking for. In the end, Cespedes and Upton just might have to settle for a 3 or 4 year deal. The FA outfielders have such little bargaining power its amusing to me. Heyward and Gordon were smart for taking the deals they got. Or even a 1-year deal. Upton can take one and then become a free agent at 29 in a weak class.
  11. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jan 9, 2016 -> 11:24 AM) I'm curious if lowball means number of years, AAV or both. I'm going to guess both.
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 9, 2016 -> 09:16 AM) Parra or bringing back Jackson would make sense for them. Or even Dexter Fowler to play LF.
  13. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:31 PM) I'm going to go with.. Davis to the Jays Upton to Baltimore Cespedes to the White Sox I'm ok with anything that lands us Upton or Cespedes
  14. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:12 PM) If they do, they'll be scrambling at the deadline for starting pitchers and giving up prospects for relying on guys like Dickey, Hutchison, 1 good year Estrada, and fricken J.A Happ lol. That rotation is worse than it was last years end. In your opinion, who should they go out and spend the money on? I wouldn't spend on Gallardo personally and I think Chen is going to sign somewhere else. They could probably get a bat and a cheaper arm as well for depth, especially by back loading an OF deal.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:09 PM) Could be posturing. Seriously, it's not THAT farfetched for them to be in on one of these outfielders. Exactly. Dickey, Bautista and Encarnacion being free agents would allow them to backload a deal. The free agent class is also terrible next off-season. Not really a crazy idea.
  16. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:04 PM) They've spent 33.5 million for the 2016 season on Estrada, Dickey, and Happ. Stroman & Hutchison are close to minimum guys, and Chavez won't get that much in arbitration. Tulo & Martin make more than that between the 2 of them. Stroman, being a minimum guy, still wouldn't be replaced. Again, not saying the Jays will definitely make a run, but wouldn't be the least bit shocked if they ended up with one.
  17. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 10:58 PM) Personally I think J UP fits better than Cespy in Toronto. No one knows how this will shake out but it's promising to see guys coming off the board to teams we thought were competitors. Who knows who and if we end up with anyone but so far the FO is playing their cards right and I'm cautiously optimistic. Agree I think we still do end up with Cespedes or Upton. It would be amazing if we got a "Davis agrees to deal with Orioles" headline this weekend.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 10:53 PM) They're not fooling anyone with anyone in that rotation either....outside of Stroman, maybe. They can afford to have a "hole" in LF given the state of their current lineup. I get that, but they have a lot of money tied up in that rotation between 5 starters already. I see Chen signing with the Nats (he's been connected to them throughout the offseason). I just don't know who they'd spend on.
  19. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 10:48 PM) Yeah, there are reportsb saying they traded revere because he was a luxury with their surplus of OFs. They are not in this market. I wonder who's gonna leadoff in that lineup. Their lineup reminds me of some of those 2000s Sox teams that had so much right handed pop (Thomas, Lee, Magglio, Konerko)
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 10:42 PM) They have Saunders, Pillar and Bautista in the OF with Pompey waiting. They have no openings. I think they use a rotating DH for the most part though. And come on man, they wouldn't be fooling anyone if they said they believe Saunders to be the starter and healthy for most of the season.
  21. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 10:43 PM) Who's doubting Hahn and KW? If he's referring to me, it doesn't make sense. I'm just throwing out that another team could possibly be a fit. Just because I said it doesn't mean I think it'll definitely happen. I believe in Hahn to get one if Upton and Cespedes.
  22. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 10:34 PM) Keep f***ing doubting Rick Hahn and Kenny Williams. Huh? Who's doubting them?
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 10:39 PM) Yet to see any baseball reporter suggest jays will go after a big OF It's been like an hour and it's a Friday. And just because a guy suggests something or not doesn't mean that's the definite case. Every year this late fans always try to connect the dots, figuring out what players can go what to teams, and there's always teams that make moves that opens up possible fits.
  24. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 10:36 PM) Eh, they'd still be better served going after a pitcher with any money they have. But who would they spend on? Off the top of my head I'm pretty sure they've already spent on 5 guys for their rotation with Stroman also being a lock. I know they have Stroman Estrada Happ Chavez who was acquired to start and Dickey.
  25. My revised predictions: Orioles: Davis Blue Jays: Cespedes White Sox: Upton (late short-term deal)
