Empirical evidence that the Sox will be good this year
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 04:54 PM) The new USCF and White Sox-specific celebrations/rituals should make 16 more interesting. I was shocked to see the new CF scoreboard was in on of the videos. Stadium changes usually don't make it in until the following season.

Empirical evidence that the Sox will be good this year
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 02:09 PM) I downloaded updated OS rosters about a week ago and am loving it. For 15 correct? Man I can't wait for 16.

3/9 vs A's
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 04:21 PM) If Rollins has anything left in the tank, he would be the ideal guy for the 2 hole. Agree. And then bat Melky 5, Lawrie 6, LaRoche 7.

3/9 vs A's
QUOTE (Condor13 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) Melky is not a 2-hole hitter. It will come down to Lawrie or Rollins and the way Ventura has been using his lineup make me belive it's gonna be Lawrie. Hasn't Rollins been in the 2-hole as well when he has played?

Empirical evidence that the Sox will be good this year
QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 01:01 PM) 2016 comes out in a few weeks. But, I doubt I can nag/bribe my wife for her to "allow" me to buy ANOTHER game. Last week it was Primal... then yesterday, I dropped $90 on the gold edition of The Division. Maybe I'll wait it out for a used copy. I always sell the old "The Show" games in Jamiary/February on ebay and get around $20 for them. It feels like a discount for the next one. My bday is also in mid-March and mostly get cash for my bday (besides from my gf) so that also helps.

Spring training 3/8: brewers vs White Sox 2:05 start
Let's just give Sanchez as a spot on the team.

Empirical evidence that the Sox will be good this year
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 02:53 PM) So I updated MLB The Show 15 to newest rosters recently, and have been playing a few games. I realize, that while this team isn't fully loaded, it's way better than last year. Playing with that roster last year, there were multiple non-MLB level players in the everyday starting lineup. With the Jackson addition, we have extras on the bench. We also have a hell of a pitching staff. Anyway, I think the Sox are going to contend this year. What's your psn? Let's play some time. Love the show.

QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 04:45 PM) People are going to be wanting to see more Avi over Jackson this season. But potentially more Jackson over LaRoche.

Olt clears waivers, sent to Charlotte
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 08:03 AM) Yeah, not all of Davidson, Olt, Ishikawa, Delmonico and Hayes will be there for two positions plus some DH time. A couple will be elsewhere or in BHAM, and I don't think any of the first three belong in AA. But Delmonico needs to be challenged or he becomes a 40-man add after the year, and Hayes looks ready for AAA (and age-wise he should be there). My guess is Olt is gone by April, not sure about what happens with the other four. For the sake of filling out a lineup, Olt I guess could go to AA to DH of backup 1B/3B.

white sox keeping Latos out of spring training games for now
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 08:40 PM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0307-story.html Cooper won't give out why they are keeping Latos from games right now Other than one article a few weeks ago, I haven't seen anything about healthy concerns. Could just be a to keep him fresh longer. Spring training is long afterall.

Olt clears waivers, sent to Charlotte
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 08:13 PM) I'm thinking Olt/ Ishikawa platoon at 1B for the Knights. Oh yeah forgot Ishikawa. Plus he can DH a bit and get some time at third.

White Sox HR totals should get a big boost this year
QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 07:18 PM) Yea, hard to complain about a 90 win year. Pitching was bad which is what held us back and what I'm complaining about. Winning 90 games was definitely impressive.

White Sox HR totals should get a big boost this year
QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 07:14 PM) Didn't we win like 94 that year? I think it was 91 and a third place finish. Edit: checked. it is indeed 90 as posted above me.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 06:50 PM) Remember 2006? Power was fun. Yep. Stupid pitching (that year).

White Sox Sign Austin Jackson
Current lineups I have are: vs RHP Eaton LF/RF (depends on what they decide to do with him position wise) Cabrera RF/LF Abreu 1B Frazier 3B LaRoche DH Lawrie 2B Avila mostly C Jackson CF Rollins/Saladino (whoever wins) SS vs LHP Eaton LF/RF Cabrera DH/RF/LF (maybe Rollins even if he has a strong spring) Abreu 1B Frazier 3B Lawrie 2B Navarro C Garcia RF/LF/DH Jackson CF Rollins/Saladino SS If they decide to go with Sands to let Avi work on his new stance/mechanics in the minors, that's perfectly fine with me too.

The Cubs enjoy some lighthearted racism at camp
QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 12:54 PM) Remember this? Lol yeah that's pretty bad.

The Cubs enjoy some lighthearted racism at camp
QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 4, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) This is way worse than what Eaton said... I hate how everyone just laughs at Kawasaki like..."oh hey, look at that Asian FOB doing Asian things, SO FUNNY!". The Japanese headbands just makes it even worse. Kawasaki's gotta realize that they're laughing at him...not with him, right? I can't wait for the stupid ass bleacher bums to show up in racist Japanese gear again. Turns out Kawasaki is the one who supplied the headbands for him teammates.

White Sox Sign Austin Jackson
QUOTE (VAfan @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 09:41 AM) Shuck is going to get AB against righties, with Jackson sitting down. Jackson's splits are not so good against RH, and Shuck didn't hit lefties well last year. It won't be a platoon, but that's who Shuck will replace, with Eaton moving to CF for those games. I expect Shuck to get into a bunch of games we're winning late for Melky and Avi.

White Sox Sign Austin Jackson
QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 05:34 PM) He's 24. He should be getting regular at bats, and as much time in the outfield as possible. The problem is that's not going to happen in the majors. If the White Sox want to see him develop to his full potential he needs to be in AAA. Especially since he is working on his mechanics.

White Sox Sign Austin Jackson
QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 05:28 PM) I really don't think there's a chance Avi goes to the minors I don't think so either but you can make a case for why he should or could.

White Sox Sign Austin Jackson
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 05:24 PM) So who gets cut from roster to make room for Jackson. Will have to make another roster move for opening day to put Rollins on too. Olt is a no doubter.

White Sox Sign Austin Jackson
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 05:20 PM) I would be perfectly fine with Garcia starting the year in AAA and Sands serving as LaRoche's platoon partner. Me too. And if LaRoche tanks again or gets hurt, you can call up a guy in Garcia who's been getting regular every day reps.
-
White Sox Sign Austin Jackson
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 05:19 PM) Do wonder if this creates LaRoche / Avi platoon, or if Avi still gets plenty of starts in the OF and Melky to DH more often. Well it could do both. LaRoche DH against righties. Melky DH with Avi in the outfield against lefties.
-
White Sox Sign Austin Jackson
Theoretically they could potentially send Garcia to AAA since he is working on a new stance/mechanics or I guess trade him.

White Sox Sign Austin Jackson
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 05:06 PM) Does this move take Shuck out of the 4th outfielder position? If Avi is on the team as well, I just can't see the Sox carrying 5 outfielders at the same time. Why not? They kept 3 1B one year. Shuck can serve as a late inning defensive replacement for Cabrera/Garcia.
