  1. No, this isn't part of the thought process on keeping him at all.
  2. Definitely feels like we will get a long strike/lock out in 2027.
  3. There are still some guys with closing experience I wouldn't mind them taking a shot on, even if you have to offer a higher salary for one year or two years.
  4. Fair prediction for a guy who’s played over 100 games once in 4 full seasons.
  5. Hopefully Zavala blows up
  6. Yeah I’ve thought the same. Would still suck but at least it’s at a time where they won’t be .500 or better.
  7. Idk, I don't see a guy with a near 6 ERA and think "that is serviceable"
  8. Yeah I fear the 2027 season would be in danger.
  9. They should probably do a similar deal involving Kjerstad as well since they keep blocking him and he's going to be 26 soon. O'Neill was such a waste of resources.
  10. I don't understand. Why didn't they just target someone who could play SS in a reserve role over Rojas, who is below average defensively at SS? Since people think Meidroth is likely to make the team, I wouldn't mind him starting at SS with Sosa at 2B. Baldwin probably starts at 2B in AAA in that scenario.
  11. Yeah agreed. Pirates, for example, have a $79M payroll and are in their competitive window now. Look at their young pitching staff. They should have gone out and grabbed say, Christian Walker who's from PA, since they had/have an opening at 1B. They could definitely afford a bat somewhere.
  12. Yeah it's got to be a harder cap, deferrals to a minimum.
  13. What would even be a fair ceiling and floor? A floor would have to at least be $80M, no? Or $100M?
  14. As far I’m concerned, Caulfield is on his own planet
  15. He rejected it. They may have to offer him a year extension or something to make him waive his NTC.
  16. Braves sign Profar. Caulfield in shambles. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/01/braves-to-sign-jurickson-profar.html Probably have soured a bit on Kelenic. BOOM
  17. I don't think Fedde was disappointing at all. Just did the math actually. Take away his first inning pitching with a new team mid-season, his ERA with the Cardinals is almost a run less.
  18. Tommy Pham was traded to the Cardinals with Fedde. And I should have specified the more impact type players.
  19. Would find it amusing that they seem firm on not trading players within their division, only for said players traded to end up in the division anyway.
  20. Fair enough! lol
  21. Well, this is what people said would happen when Andrew Friedman left the Rays for the Dodgers. It's like the Rays philosophy of finding undervalued prospects but also having an infinite budget to sign/keep stars.
