  1. I just meant if you were looking to dump him and kick in cash. Not necessarily take back a starter.
  2. I think he’s a free agent a year sooner too. Probably have to kick in a little money to even it out though right? I was trying to think of somewhere with a small LF where he could fake it like Houston. But they still have that infield logjam that pushes Alvarez to LF sometimes,
  3. How much many do the Sox have to kick in with Benintendi to get something worthwhile back?
  4. I kinda like having Chase hit lower and stacking the top with the best all around bats to give them the most ABs but there doesn’t feel like a natural guy to hit there. Kyle Teel maybe but I also think it’s weird having a Catcher hit leadoff lol
  5. I meant play him over Hill. Give the at bats to someone interesting at least
  6. Also, Benintendi is fine against lefties in his career and had an .849 OPS against them last year.
  7. Baldwin is a switch hitter. Why not start him over Hill?
  8. Another reason to watch the WBC. At least the Japan games.
  9. Robert being injured 50+ games at his salary does nothing for me, nor this team. Eat money, package him if you have to, and trade him.
  10. Totally get the guy being disappointed with the offers and wanting a prove it deal to become a free agent at 27 again. At least he doesn’t cost a draft pick like other guys who have gone this route.
  11. They need a few legit arms to make any kind of run anyway. Robert isn’t going to be the difference between going to playoffs or not. If they can get a comp pick for this draft from Reds or Pirates, with a couple extra pieces, that would be great.
  12. Mead is very redundant. I’d probably try to package Sosa with Robert or Gilbert or another reliever to some hitting needy team.
  13. They can at least trade him or offer him QO if they can’t extend him. This deal makes it so he can go to free agency at 27 though so doubt an extension will be on his mind.
  14. I meant Okamoto. I prefer his skill set to Murakami, just wish he was younger and hit left-handed is what I meant
  15. Yeah. I prefer him over Okamoto because of his age but Okamoto’s skill set (low k, high BB rates) I prefer. Just wish he hit left-handed and were a few years younger. There’s definitely good reason for concern but if a team that doesn’t want to spend money suddenly is interested due to a market that’s barely there, I feel confident he’s not getting anywhere near whatever he was projected to at the beginning of the offseason
