  1. $10M isn’t really “big rotation $” anymore.
  2. When the Sox are working with limited resources, I’m willing to find out if Vaughn can perform as well or better than Abreu during his ages 36-38 seasons for a fraction of the cost. If you re-sign Abreu, you’re probably dealing Hendriks and Giolito and/or Graveman as well.
  3. No. I think most have been penciling him in as the DH, which he should be. We have no idea what this front office will do, however. For all we know, Sheets could be the DH against righties with Eloy in LF and then Eloy is the DH with another right-handed bat in left against lefties. Edit: this would be really dumb.
  4. I’d be ok giving him that deal. We don’t lose a draft pick anymore so whatever.
  5. Definitely pathetic that (if true and let's face it, it probably is) he wants to reduce the payroll from last season in the middle of our competitive window.
  6. Rather they use that money towards the outfield and rotation and just stay in-house at 2B.
  7. Yeah I don't think they picked up the option hoping they would get some sort of a great return for him. I think they just didn't want to pay the buyout either.
  8. I would like to see a more credible source but the Sox trading for Wong would not be at all surprising. Seems like something they would do.
  9. No. Easy to connect the Sox to Wong. Need for a 2B and left-handed bat.
  10. Definitely still a room for a right-handed OF bat.
  11. Does every pitcher who comes over from that league have TJ surgery within the first 2-3 years they come over?
  12. He’s horrible at churning the talent at the bottom part of the 40-man.
  13. Yeah I think it's worth bringing in him back on a minor league deal. It seems like at least a handful of teams do this every off-season. That way they won't have to carry him on the 40-man roster all off-season.
  14. Exactly. Not too exciting of a prospect but maybe he can be a useful MLB bench piece. Definitely can compete with whatever cheap depth right-handed 4th OF depth options they bring in to spring training.
  15. Colas can even cover CF when Robert needs a day off.
  16. Yeah, I think they would be interesting for depth. But not banking on either of those guys being starting players. Edit: they would be more interesting than Adam Haseley.
  17. I'd rather have more of a sure thing than just "he plays great defense and runs fast." There's guys out there that they can pay a fraction of the price that can play defense and run fast. I get you are paying for the potential in the bat, but it's kinda silly to cite defense and speed as reasons you want him here when others can do that. Edit: that said, I don't think he signs here and goes somewhere where he will play CF while he tries to rebuild value with the bat.
  18. I’m kind of high on Lux but he’s also currently penciled in to be their starting SS. Adding a SS, he would be penciled at 2B.
