  1. Makes sense. They’ve enjoyed playing with a short-handed roster to this point anyway.
  2. Angels signed Phil Nevin to be their manager for next year. Removes one team from the “teams that need a manager” list.
  3. You would think he would have been extended by now if he was going to be here next year right? Just seems like something Jerry would do. And we don’t have the QO to dangle in front of him this time around. Edit: meant to say that it’s weird they haven’t talked extension; not that it’s weird he isn’t already.
  4. I was saying early to a buddy to start him and pull him from the field in like the 5th.
  5. It’s such an obscure number to the point where I wouldn’t mind if they did because no one else is probably going to wear it.
  6. If we didn’t have a bunch of guys who could DH, I’d say bring him back. But Vaughn should be at 1B and Eloy’s gloves should be burned.
  7. Why are you looking at 2 years of data for one player and one for the other?
  8. Player manager...they wanted Konerko to do that before they settled on Ventura lol
  9. Someone who will listen to analytics when building a lineup.
  10. He literally states in his 3rd sentence "I have no idea".....
  11. He kept doing it all last off-season too.
  12. I was going off Dallas Keuchel being listed as owed a buyout for next year. Doesn’t effect CBT (I think/if I’m looking at it correctly) so doesn’t really matter in the end.
  13. Rick at the deadline said they wanted to add but couldn't because of what other teams were asking for is what I recall. Nothing about financials.
  14. Basically just earned a promotion and needed a body. That's pretty much it.
  15. Sorry, I meant for the current 2023 White Sox. But that doesn't count arbitration guys, which other than Cease and Giolito shouldn't be huge.
  16. Interview Espada and the bench coach of the Rays who's name escapes me.
  17. Right now, according to Spotrac, if they buyout Harrison's option and Pollock picks up his player option, they would have $151,656,666 on the books for 2023 but the luxury tax number is $137,156,667. That doesn't factor in arb numbers because I just don't want to guess those but will add them to my tracker when MLBTR does their predictions since they are usually really close. Some guys like Crick, Engel, Ruiz could be candidates to be non-tendered. It doesn't look like buyouts count towards the CBT number but they owe Jose $1 mill in deferred money which does.
  18. They would satisfy that rule with former Sox minor league manager Willie Harris. Probably just a courtesy interview for Cairo since he has been here a couple years and was interim manager.
