  1. Great, something else for our fanbase to use as an excuse next year.
  2. This is what I have been wondering as well. Would Graveman be the closer then? Would probably need to add a veteran reliever or two on 1-year deals as well.
  3. Doesn't look like this was posted here yet but: Royals' Pedro Grifol to interview for White Sox manager. https://www.soxon35th.com/report-royals-pedro-grifol-to-interview-for-white-sox-manager/
  4. Unless a new manager wanted to meet with the coaches first before deciding.
  5. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/10/mlb-projected-arbitration-salaries-2023.html Projected arbitration numbers for 2023 from MLBTR. They are usually pretty close. White Sox (8) Lucas Giolito (5.080): $10.8MM Adam Engel (5.058): $2.3MM Kyle Crick (5.027): $1.5MM Reynaldo Lopez (5.004): $3.3MM Dylan Cease (3.089): $5.3MM Jose Ruiz (3.048): $1MM Michael Kopech (3.041): $2.2MM Danny Mendick (2.168): $1MM
  6. I'd still love for them to add a left handed hitting OF. If it's true they are going to part ways with Abreu, Vaughn can play 1B, Eloy should be the DH, and Sheets shouldn't be a factor on the team. Assuming Pollock picks up his player option, that is the platoon player with either Colas or Conforto/other left-handed bat and Pollock opens the year getting every day at bats until Colas is called up.
  7. Yeah like a 1 year, like $12-$15 mill pillow contract so he can be a free agent after the season?
  8. I can believe most of that. The Ohtani offer is not one of them.
  9. Also shouldn’t have gotten a guaranteed $3 mill coming off a season with a 7+ era.
  10. What is Vaughn’s WAR if he is only playing 1B? Add Nimmo’s 5 WAR and then whatever Colas brings in the OF over Vaughn/Sheets/Eloy playing out there.
  11. From left to right, a Colas Robert Nimmo outfield sounds nice to me.
  12. Just looked at his 2022 salary. $1 mill less than Velasquez got. Swing and a miss, Rick.
  13. Since the Astros are not in the Wild Card round, they could in theory, have talked to Espada yesterday, today, or this weekend right?
  14. Passionate here as well but luckily have plenty of other passions.
  15. Going to take advantage of the risk free up to $25 SGP during each day of the Wild Card games this weekend. Not sure which to bet though.
  16. Players can only be offered the QO once and Abreu was already offered it last time he was a free agent.
  17. Thank Christ it’s finally over.
  18. I get what you're saying, but those guys in AAA would be our best depth options (currently constructed). And agree with the second paragraph. Hahn is awful at over-turning the bottom part of the 40-man.
  19. Glad I got the Twins at +115 in the morning before lineups came out.
  20. Yes they absolutely should be looking to hire someone from the Rays, Astros, Dodgers, etc.
  21. Change of tone from that one season when he said something along the lines of him re-signing himself or whatever he said.
