  1. Really going out on a limb here.
  2. Eh. Personally, when I think "Future Sox," I think prospects. Not some quad-A reliever. It's probably fine here.
  3. Assuming Crochet opens the year in the minors, who is in the pen as of now? For 8 spots, you have Hendriks, Bummer (L), Marshall, Heuer, Foster, Fry (L) as the likely locks, probably a long-reliever/spot starter (not sure who would serve this role as of now as I also think Lopez opens the year in the minor as a middle-reliever), and then one more spot that as of now I guess could go to Ruiz or Cordero. I assume they will upgrade that spot or add a long-reliever. Edit: just saw the new tweet, Not really news here as every team signs guys to minor league deals for bullpen depth.
  4. Right. He can take the best deal from anyone: a contender or a team looking to flip him in June/July.
  5. Yeah idk why I explained it the way I did but I said Cease was a lock for one of the spots.
  6. It was for defensive purposes and assuming DH (where Alonso would be) but I agree, I don't think they would do that to their star player.
  7. They have 2 spots open (before injuries). 0% chance Kopech starts the year in the majors, Lopez I personally think is ticketed for the pen (use his last option and let him work in a relief role at AAA). Cease has a spot locked down. They for sure need to add one more reliable arm.
  8. Have a hard time believing this when they have never signed anyone to a 9-figure deal.
  9. And 2 of those guys would help them at the MLB level immediately.
  10. I would think the price is high. They shouldn't be in a rush to deal him.
  11. With minors: 2017 - 145.2 2018 - 116.2 2019 - 71.1 2020 - 59.2 Must have been hurt in 2019.
  12. Can you confirm that they are close on another move?
  13. Just a couple corrections, but he has 3 years left, plus an option ($4 mill buyout for 2024). The deal he signed was a 4 year deal, plus option. Everything else is correct though on his salary. Edit: looking at his numbers, I thought he did worse than he actually did.
  14. If he were to sign a 2-year extension, that final year would be a year in which we lose Keuchel (unless his option gets picked up). Plus, too much pitching is a good problem to have and you can always trade someone (even Lynn himself).
  15. Let's see both a 1 or 2 year extension for Lynn and a 5-6 year extension with Giolito!
  16. For Benintendi? I wouldn't trade the Red Sox anything more than Reynaldo Lopez. Benintendi hasn't been good in like 3 years. I don't get this board's obsession with him.
  17. It's because his name is Gonzales.
  18. Yeah probably some team like that and a low cost.
  19. As I said yesterday, every team should have someone there.
  20. Latest update says no Rangers, but "another AL team."
  21. I still feel like Molina could get a starting job (he had some reported interest early in the off-season) but I'd be cool with him being a backup.
