  1. Ok but that wasn't exactly the point. You've heard of them but probably haven't heard their name since they were drafted or top prospects for a couple of years.
  2. Sounds like the perfect way to end an awful stint at the MLB level with a team. We'll see if they cut bait soon.
  3. If he becomes a solid reliever, that is a lot better than other first round picks who have failed and never even played in the MLB. Seriously, just look at any draft class over the past 15-20 years and you will say "who?" a lot.
  4. Because they have to meet the annual quota of one awful middle of the order hitting lefty DH.
  5. Like who? No one loses their jobs here. Unless you are referring to some of the crap players.
  6. I don't mind Leury being a bench player on a team with as many fragile players as we have on it. Moncada and Eloy just seem like guys who will go on the IL for at least 1 stint a year.
  7. Well the only thing I can explain is the Detwiler part. Just way too many injuries, even beyond Kopech and Dunning or guys who would have gotten shot (like Stephens and Guerrero) pitched/are pitching like shit.
  8. Maybe Collins if he ever gets enough at bats. Edit: just looked for the hell of it. In his small cup of coffee, he walked at a 16% clip. Give him some at bats please.
  9. I've opened up to the idea as well. I prefer a left-handed bat, but a factor is also availability.
  10. Yeah the fit was literally perfect. Someone posted asking how they're going to play everyone at Charlotte with Madrigal's promotion. This would have been a reasonable fix.
  11. I'd be good with Nimmo if the price is low. But I would think the Mets would keep him and see if he bounces back to 2018 numbers before trading him for little.
  12. I'm not a fan of the idea of signing him. Nor Castellanos for that matter.
  13. Anyone else feel like Ozuna is the type of guy who would just suck if the Sox signed him?
  14. Yeah with an early game today, you figure someone would have been on the way. Unless they were flying out after the game which is unusual.
  15. Agreed 100%. I always hate the hockey fan meatheads that say hockey is the best because players will play with a broken leg...how are you helping your team by playing injured? lol give me someone who can skate.
  16. Sadly, it should be easy with such a low payroll. Offer the most.
  17. One of my friends works for a company where someone had started, worked about a week, and then stopped showing up and they didn't hear from him. About 2 weeks go by and this guy sends the boss an email saying he thought he had another opportunity come up and was begging for his job back
  18. Nice. Some extra games there and about 2 weeks to a month in Charlotte next year. I like it.
  19. Grandal + Cole + Calhoun. He has a $14 million option that I can see the Angels decline in favor of a $1 million buyout since their payroll is so high and Brian Goodwin was doing fine for them as Upton's fill-in. He'd be a fine power hitting lefty, stop gap for RF hitting in say, the 7th spot.
  20. Imagine a Triple-A lineup if Eloy went on a rehab assignment and Anderson was still on a rehab assignment. Mercy.
  21. That around .500 record was pretty unsustainable with 1 starter so might as well. Hopefully this is the last year we will be drafting top 10 for a long time.
  22. Could easily just be a career year. Edit: having said that, to whoever previously said they would give him a 3 year, $45 mill extension, I'm glad you're not GM lol.
  23. Hearing about the Paul Konerko love from Alonso is awesome. Paulie alwyn had a beautiful swing. Hard to not want to copy it. There was a great article on The Athletic about it yesterday.
