  1. It's been brought up multiple times over the past few months that the Sox should sell high on Moncada now for prospects.
  2. You mean like the Sox (hypothetically), a team in which he already plays for?
  3. On no you're being clear. It just makes zero sense. Teams don't trade their stars with 2 years of control left in the middle of their contention window.
  4. I swear, there's a very small group of fans on this board that are obsessed with the idea of a perpetual rebuild lol
  5. You literally said trade them with 2 years of control which would be 2021/2022. You're literally comparing 2 teams that couldn't be farther apart.
  6. Yeah. It's not a good comparison at all.
  7. Why on earth would we trade them if we are in the middle of contending? If we are running away with the division (like we possibly could be in 2021, 2022), why would you trade them? Such a bad take. And to be honest, they are "5 no name minor league players" because you've never heard of them. Combing through the deal and stats, they got 4 interesting/solid/good pieces and then one guy who is a clear throw in. That's a pretty good haul for 2 months of a player.
  8. Yeah it's honestly pathetic that the Pirates payroll is like $43 mill right now.
  9. I do like the idea of a later date. You keep them down and you only get them for 6 years and a couple months or just 6 full years if you call them up sooner.
  10. How should it be defined and written out? "X amount of at bats at AA, X amount of bats at AAA, or Y amount of at bats between both levels?" Of course, they can always get promoted sooner.
  11. They'll have guys like Anderson, Moncada, Robert and Madrigal that can run. But the other 5 guys in the lineup will be slow af.
  12. I guess there were 3-way trade talk of Seager to Reds, Lindor to Dodgers and prospects/young players to Indians this off-season. Depending on what they move for Betts, maybe they can still pull something off for Lindor.
  13. It's posted above.
  14. Why? Goldschmidt got that plus more. Who is the better player of the 2? Also factor in they can offer a QO in the off-season to recoup something they trade away.
  15. You sure the O's let him walk in free agency?
  16. Uhhh which star are you referring to?
  17. Technically it can if you have someone like Leury play 2B to sub for Anderson (with Mendick shifting to SS).
  18. There's no point of doing that with Madrigal unless it is really cheap and he gives up multiple years of free agency to make the risk worth it (unlike the Eloy and Robert deals where we got one).
  19. I'm not saying right now. Just saying he could be that guy eventually.
  20. Look again what I said. I'm saying if he won the case he would have less control meaning less trade value. But reading is hard.
  21. Eh I kinda would have preferred he won, not that I believe he had a chance. One less year of control if he stays with Cubs and also less trade value if they move him.
  22. I don't think they'll be one of the final bidders personally. If Jerry is signing anyone to a $300+, long-term deal, it will be someone already in house like Moncada. Dude is loyal (sometimes to a fault).
  23. The luxury tax CAP goes by AAV anyway so it doesn't matter if he is paid significantly more one year and then significantly little the next.
