  1. Yeah...I was like so you think he can hit 39...but not one more in a season?
  2. Yep. Which is why I made that last comment. Instead they convinced Ventura to take the job he didn't even want.
  3. Please don't put any ideas in Jerry's head. (Re-reads player manager comment) Too late.
  4. Two things have to be certain if he comes back: He has to DH most of the games he plays in and he has to hit 5th most instead of 3/4. Maybe he can hit in those spots before other guys (Robert and Madrigal) come up and shift the lineup around but that's about it.
  5. The player who says "I want to play here the rest of my career. If they don't resign me, I'll resign myself" (or something along those lines) hasn't killed his leverage?
  6. Nope. Not with a very small sample size and not playing for 18 months.
  7. I'd assume anyone already in the majors would be grandfathered in under old rules.
  8. Some guy named Yoan. Or is it spelled Yone? Ynoa?
  9. I saw someone make a comment on Facebook that Ricky is the weak-link of the rebuild (who really expects him here long-term though?). That honor may very well go to their owner.
  10. We're talking like 9 games (I remember checking after the schedule was released) and you have to think at least 2 will be PPD to later in the season.
  11. Isn't that normally with a lefty on the mound? If so, it doesn't apply here.
  12. Chris Sale was smart to take that money last off-season.
  13. It's ok if they need to go for high AAV one year deals. They have the flexibility. Honestly, I feel like most of the moves they make this offseason won't even be a factor for 2021.
  14. Believe he is somehow related to Gerritt Cole which is why his name was specifically tossed out here haha.
  15. Ah, the classic Hahn and KW "Friends and Family Plan" eh?
  16. I know...which is why I acknowledged it's a good problem if you need to figure out who to bump from the rotation when Kopech comes back.
  17. A lot of people have been saying they should add 2 SP: an upper-part of the rotation arm and then a back-end starter. That would let them ease Kopech back in the minors to open the year with going with a rotation of: 1. upper-rotation signing 2. Giolito 3. Cease 4. Lopez 5. back-end SP. Hopefully, you run into the problem of everyone pitching great (and healthy) for when Kopech is ready to come back up and you can bump the back-end SP signing to the bullpen. Maybe Nova can be that guy?
  18. Yeah and I'd bet his numbers would look better in our ballpark and playing in a league with pitchers he's familiar seeing. Oh well. As long as Madrigal is good and they spend the money on another bat for the OF or a top arm (or both) it may work out for the best.
  19. I think so too. Thinking about turning into a TED Talk.
  20. Lol I'm pretty sure he did move...he can still access this site from Nashville. Lol
