  1. Agreed. Especially if there is going to be expansion and possible realignment soon.
  2. Doubtful. They have enough infield depth. Plus Gavin Lux was called up this year. Likely the 2B next year.
  3. I would like for Collins to receive the majority of the starts behind the plate the rest of the season (while McCann DH's/catches day game after night game).
  4. I don't think he would get offered a QO. If he is offered a QO, 1 of 2 things happens: 1. he accepts or 2. he rejects and re-signs for less than the QO on a one or two year deal. No team is going to give up draft pick for him.
  5. No, I don't believe they did. Everyone here knows that. Jay was only brought in for one reason and it had nothing to do with his on-field production.
  6. You don't give up your first round picking sign a free agent with a QO attached.
  7. Exactly. Say our current guys are producing a -2.5 WAR in RF (don't know the exact number just going off of the -5 WAR between RF and DH stat). He's at a 1.7 WAR for the season which isn't stellar, but you're talking an upgrade of 4.2 WAR.
  8. Seriously, give the man an OF glove at this point. We've all seen enough Palka (6-spot lol).
  9. Especially not for a guy with a neck injury. But the Mets have gotten a new GM recently so maybe he won't be as in love with Nimmo as a GM who drafts players.
  10. You can probably add a defensive-first OF (Engel? Free agent?) to the bench since rosters expand to 26.
  11. He should try warming up with a softball like Contreras did. Spoiler alert: it helps.
  12. I don't know. 1 year as starting 2B possibly traded to contender to start is probably tempting.
  13. I just feel he will sign as a sign and flip candidate with one of the many rebuilding teams as a 2B.
  14. And not appearing in live games for like 18 months is kind of a big deal. I think he needs more than Spring Training.
  15. Yeah it would be the most pumped and optimistic I would be for a season since...I can't even remember.
  16. What if is something like Abreu (almost feels like a lock he comes back, but I would prefer he DH'd if we couldn't sign someone else), JDM to DH, a starting pitcher (Cole/Strasburg, but probably someone in next group), Calhoun, and a couple of relievers?
  17. Right. "A left-handed hitting RF" clearly means JDM.
  18. Yeah I'd prefer to aim higher. As a bench piece, sure.
  19. Gennett has played 16 games (10 starts) in the OF in his career and hasn't since 2017. I don't think he is an option for RF.
