  1. I was going to say, other teams' version of "aggressive" or their version of "aggressive," which is having a seat at the table?
  2. And then trade something better for a closer in the off-season?
  3. In before someone says "why didn't we get Fischer/Sanchez."
  4. Not at the point where I want to trade any of our top guys. Keep growing/building the core.
  5. Oh you were actually questioning who he was referring to. My bad.
  6. Don't be that guy. Our money goes to the team that we are supporting. We're a part of it.
  7. He hasn't been keeping it up for the past month and a half now.
  8. Agreed. So many awful takes on this site today.
  9. DFA Jay and Castillo, call up Collins and Mercedes. When you play McCann and Collins in the same lineup, you at least have an emergency catcher on the bench. Also, make a move to get Mendick every day at bats at 2B. At this point, fuck it. Get some new faces here. Edit: DFA Reed
  10. Yeah, there's really no point of playing him now. Might as well take him off the 40-man 3 months sooner.
  11. Wish the Robertson news would have broken a lot sooner. A smart GM with financial flexibility and an owner ok spending money (think Friedman a couple years ago with the Dodgers) would have taken on Robertson's full contract, eaten some of Colome's salary for this year, and gotten a good package out of it.
  12. You're right. No player can ever improve or learn a new position I guess. Edit: plus, NL will probably have a DH and it won't be an issue at some point when is up.
  13. Could settle in at 1B. Or flipped next dead line or off-season after another good season.
  14. I'm sure teams were lining up for a declining Abreu, Welington Castillo, and Jon freakin Jay. Even if the Sox ate some salary.
  15. Those 3 will at least get a QO and a draft pick for their teams. Edit: Castellanos to Cubs
  16. I mean, free agency looks pretty sad for next year. Glad we don't actually have to trade for a closer.
  17. One less reliever they need to find for 2020. And a closer at that.
  18. Hell, maybe a team decides they want to trade for him in the offseason if hes available (anyone is for the right price).
  19. They didn't really have much to trade. Am I disappointed we didn't get a good prospect for Colome? Yes. But I also realize offers may not have been what they wanted.
