2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
Easy. Eloy LF, Engel CF, Leury in RF. AJ Reed (unfortunately) DH. Infield: Goins, Anderson, Yolmer if Moncada can't play. Edit: also possible Tilson is on his way to Chicago just in case.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Yeah I just think it is more likely Garcia opens the year at 2B next year (with Engel or some other fill-in in CF) until Madrigal comes up.

Yeah my comment was more for the pending free agents.

That's a good point, actually. I kind of get the feeling he ends up staying,

But if a team doesn't want any of those guys, then it's not really a failure since there was just no interest.

If the offers aren't there (or there are no offers) then not really. The only ones I would really take "best offer" for would be the guys who are free agents in a couple of months. But again, a team would have to be interested.

Trevor Bauer traded to Reds - Puig to Indians
Yeah, definitely.

Trevor Bauer traded to Reds - Puig to Indians
They have hitting and need pitching. Guess they think they can go for it next year.

Will you be mad if the Sox do not seriously try to move Abreu?
I was on the: extend him (or trade and re-sign him) for a year and like $10 mill at the absolute most. But lately, I think I've decided I'd rather move on.

Definitely gotta sell high here.

Trevor Bauer traded to Reds - Puig to Indians
He'll probably be in LF. Easier to hide the glove there. And he can DH.

Trevor Bauer traded to Reds - Puig to Indians
About 1/3 of his posts have nothing to do with the topic the post is in.

Trevor Bauer traded to Reds - Puig to Indians
Never heard anyone say that about someone playing in Petco.

Luis Robert
Wonder if we will hear complaints from his camp like Eloy's last year. Maybe by helping him out with the tax break, it's kind of agreed upon under the table that this would happen?

Sox vs. Mets - Tues, July 30th, 2019
The hug-watch game.

At least Reed isn't playing.

40 Man Trash
It literally says right next to him, "Assuming he's resigned." Just means that if he was re-signed he would in fact, be a lock.

Orioles Claim Rondon - HE GONE
Definition from Baseball Reference: A player is designated for assignment when his team wants to replace him on the active roster and he is out of options. The team thus announces its wish to send the player to the minor leagues and places his name on waivers. If the player is claimed, a trade may be worked out between the two teams. Alright, break over. Gotta get back to work.

I'd say very little.

Except he's on the decline so he probably isn't going to be better. Dude is late on 90 MPH heaters.

Orioles Claim Rondon - HE GONE
lmao it's not what's happening here. Player is DFA'd, he's placed on waivers and teams place claims on him, team can just let him go to a claiming team or work out a trade in the 7-day window if they realize there's enough interest and claiming teams. If time has passed and no one placed a claim, he can be outrighted and stay with the organization but he's able to decide if he wants to accept or reject the assignment. Someone else shed some light for a while.

And what's Abreu's control and WAR this year?

Orioles Claim Rondon - HE GONE
I've added to my comment since your response. I wouldn't say they tried "sneaking him."

Orioles Claim Rondon - HE GONE
And I'm, saying we've known that for about a day when he was dfa'd lol he was either going to be claimed or outrighted pretty much. "Sneaking a guy through waivers" is when you strategically dfa a guy, trying to sneak him through waivers when other teams are also opening up spots for guys not on their 40-man. Example: extra catchers on the 40-man at the end of spring training (like Kevan Smith) or just interesting players in general out of options. Team will try to sneak guys through in about a month when rosters expand.

I think the waiver window is a week, starting right at the DFA. They just have the ability to trade before the time is up. They clearly just didn't bother trying.
