Moncada to IL, out at least 2 weeks per Merkin
Yeah with an early game today, you figure someone would have been on the way. Unless they were flying out after the game which is unusual.

Agreed 100%. I always hate the hockey fan meatheads that say hockey is the best because players will play with a broken leg...how are you helping your team by playing injured? lol give me someone who can skate.

Hahn expects aggressive offseason
Sadly, it should be easy with such a low payroll. Offer the most.

Job Thread
One of my friends works for a company where someone had started, worked about a week, and then stopped showing up and they didn't hear from him. About 2 weeks go by and this guy sends the boss an email saying he thought he had another opportunity come up and was begging for his job back

Danny Farquhar returns to the Sox
I agree here.

Madrigal Promoted to AAA
Nice. Some extra games there and about 2 weeks to a month in Charlotte next year. I like it.

Grandal + Cole + Calhoun. He has a $14 million option that I can see the Angels decline in favor of a $1 million buyout since their payroll is so high and Brian Goodwin was doing fine for them as Upton's fill-in. He'd be a fine power hitting lefty, stop gap for RF hitting in say, the 7th spot.

Imagine a Triple-A lineup if Eloy went on a rehab assignment and Anderson was still on a rehab assignment. Mercy.

7/31 Mets @ Sox 7:10 pm NBCSN-CHI de Grom vs. Giolito
That around .500 record was pretty unsustainable with 1 starter so might as well. Hopefully this is the last year we will be drafting top 10 for a long time.

Could easily just be a career year. Edit: having said that, to whoever previously said they would give him a 3 year, $45 mill extension, I'm glad you're not GM lol.

Hearing about the Paul Konerko love from Alonso is awesome. Paulie alwyn had a beautiful swing. Hard to not want to copy it. There was a great article on The Athletic about it yesterday.

I was going to say, other teams' version of "aggressive" or their version of "aggressive," which is having a seat at the table?

Astros get Greinke
A-freakin-men

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
And then trade something better for a closer in the off-season?
-
Aaron Sanchez + to the Astros
In before someone says "why didn't we get Fischer/Sanchez."
-
Astros get Greinke
Not at the point where I want to trade any of our top guys. Keep growing/building the core.
-
Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Oh you were actually questioning who he was referring to. My bad.
-
Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Don't be that guy. Our money goes to the team that we are supporting. We're a part of it.
-
Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
He hasn't been keeping it up for the past month and a half now.
-
Astros get Greinke
Yep, first thing I thought of.
-
Astros get Greinke
Agreed. So many awful takes on this site today.

Opinion: Jay should be DFA tomorrow, bring up Collins and others.
DFA Jay and Castillo, call up Collins and Mercedes. When you play McCann and Collins in the same lineup, you at least have an emergency catcher on the bench. Also, make a move to get Mendick every day at bats at 2B. At this point, fuck it. Get some new faces here. Edit: DFA Reed

Yeah, there's really no point of playing him now. Might as well take him off the 40-man 3 months sooner.

Sox make no deadline moves
Wish the Robertson news would have broken a lot sooner. A smart GM with financial flexibility and an owner ok spending money (think Friedman a couple years ago with the Dodgers) would have taken on Robertson's full contract, eaten some of Colome's salary for this year, and gotten a good package out of it.
