The proposal for when the season starts again has teams starting with 29 man rosters for the first month. Yermin I'm sure will make the team. Assuming this gets better and there is a season of course.

He was on the MLB IL so he did. He currently has 1.041 years of service. But he was also option already so I don't think he would get the service time.

I mean, he was going to start in the minors regardless having 5 MLB options on the roster.

So no one really knows whats going to happen or what will count as service time, I think this is the smart thing to do.

I would guess since these games are technically "PPD" its more procedural incase this time happens to count towards service time. Which is why I guess you would option him before what would have been the start of the season. Just my guess. And yes, other teams have made these moves.

Well he's not a free agent after this year so no. But to your point, I'm thinking no one gains service time since there are no games being played. So no, I don't think guys who are free agents after this season will be free agents.

If the season is canceled, I really doubt anyone who would have been a free agent after this season would be granted free agency.
