Guys we should target on short term deals
I'd also add Trevor Rosenthal to the list of guys I would take a shot on.

Guys we should target on short term deals
He actually signed a 2-year deal the year prior, even though he was going to miss all of 2017. Is there any other pitchers out there we can do that to?

Lamigo Monkeys Post Po-Jung Wang (Taiwan)
It also depends on his age and service time (not sure on either) if he is considered an amateur signing or not. Edit: did the research. You have to be at least 25 and have at least 6 years of experience to be exempt from the rules. He is 25 with only 5 years.

I've started living by the rule: post-college is fair game once you hit a certain age.

How much $/years would you offer Eovaldi?
That has everything to do with this thread haha

Moncada ADD
That's it's not really a big deal. Having ADD isn't really like a sickness or anything. This is pretty much a non-issue/story.

Let's start looking for interesting pieces we can take off their hands.

Wasn't it a caller who asked or suggested it first?

Victor Victor Mesa & Victor Jr sign with the Marlins
I'm aware. I was just referring to the Mesa brothers since this thread is about the Mesas.

2018 MLB catch all thread
It just occurred to me in another thread that in this current signing period, Sox can only spend up to $300k on a player so they won't be in the sweepstakes for either brother.

In the current signing period, we can't spend over $300k on one player.
- Sox have "flexibility" to add "long term pieces"

Yeah if they're going to sign someone for the money he is going to get, you better be playing at 110%, 100% of the time.

How much $/years would you offer Eovaldi?
I'm going to predict 3 years/ $30-39m, so $10-13m annually.

Dear FO: Harper VS Machado, Soxtalk Will Help You Decide
Saw a lot of Dodgers fan on Facebook hoping they wouldn't re-sign him. They mentioned his attitude and way he plays the game. He honestly doesn't seen like the kind of guy who would sign here unless we outbid the next offer from a competitor by a solid $20mill at least. Also seems like the kind of player who would sign a massive contract and coast. Not sure hes the type of guy you give the big contract to.

2018 MLB catch all thread
I'm thinking both go to the Marlins or one goes to the O's.

2018 White Sox catch-all thread
Last year, it was $197m. Next year, it jumps up to $206m, which is the biggest jump per season so far. This season was a great year for teams to reset their penalties.

Sonny Gray
Yep. Both really with Kershaw potentially leaving (I don't think he will).
-
Sonny Gray
I would be interested in Gray. Younger and more upside than Shields. Potential flip candidate.

White Sox projected arb salaries
Is he really? I never knew that.

NLCS: Dodgers vs Brewers
Thought Gio should have at least gone another inning or two. But I guess when you're rotation is like that and you have a lot of off days in the playoffs, you can sort of go with that Rays strategy of having an "opener" for an inning or two. Especially when your pen is that good.
