  1. QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 03:08 PM) Cleveland's 6-9 hitters are bad. I just don't see them generating enough offense to win tonight. Cubs 6-9 haven't done too much this series either (I know I know...Russell hit a slam yesterday). Edit: Actually, 6-9 and then leadoff hitter.
  2. Cubs 1. Dexter Fowler (S) CF 2. Kyle Schwarber (L) DH 3. Kris Bryant ® 3B 4. Anthony Rizzo (L) 1B 5. Ben Zobrist (S) LF 6. Addison Russell ® SS 7. Willson Contreras ® C 8.   3. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 02:15 PM) When the Indians win, Corey Kluber should absolutely be the MVP. Yep.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 01:14 PM) I had my sox spring jacket on at starbucks this week. Another guy walks into the store with a similar jacket. We both looked at each and i said, thank God! He laughed. I wore my Sox hat to work today (work in the loop) mostly so people on the streets selling "Cubs NL Champs" shirts wouldn't acknowledge me. Mission accomplished lol
  5. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 11:43 AM) I don't think the city will burn.. I've been saying it will for a while, but after the Cubs won the NLCS it's just a bunch of drunk party-goers littering and being asinine human beings. I'd much rather see riots and the burning of city, well, not exactly for sports reasons, but I'd take it, but I don't expect any of it to go down win/lose. As for this game, my money is slightly on the Indians. They haven't lost 3 in a row this year (I think per this thread earlier) and Kluber on the mound with a recharged bullpen. Hendricks isn't exactly lester or roided up Arriereta and the Indians are at home (although this benefit is neutralized by Schwarbers presence). They won't make a mistake like they did in Game 6 with the outfield error again and it should be a close game. Great series for baseball, not a good time to be a Sox fan (cubbies will grow this generation). I am looking forward to tonight's game. For the love of God, please sit Chisenhall!
  6. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 10:45 AM) So, how crazy is it going to get if the Cubs win tonight? I actually thought the night they won the pennant was pretty tame all things considered, especially with it being a Saturday. I'm guessing the potential parade would be Friday. Good luck to anyone that has to commute to work downtown that day. I think it'll be Tuesday or Wednesday. Either way, I was told I can work from home that day
  7. At least Danks (~15 mill) and Laroche (13 mill) are off the books! (I lnow LaRoche wasn't on at all during the season, but he was all off-season. Even with Shields at 9 mill, they should have money to spend.
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 08:07 AM) Sounds crazy, right? Thanks to IowaSoxFan on SoxTalk bringing up the idea, after I thought about it, it's really not that crazy. Here is the case for it. Yes? No? Not yet? Give him a few months/a season.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 07:55 AM) I think regardless of tonight's outcome the city is going to burn. Yep.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 07:56 AM) Again, still don't know that. What if Desmond tanks and isn't even worth a QO? What if Fowler was only long-term big money deal or 1 year Cubs? We don't know any of this, its all guessing. True. I feel like players that take one year deals take it from their former team if there is interest by said team. That's kind of why I feel Nats will re-sign Ramos and let him rehab for a few months with a team he is familiar with.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 07:45 AM) Wow, one city might burn down tonight with all the hype this game is getting. I can see douchebag cubs fans knocking down light posts. Win or lose lol
  12. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 07:31 AM) the latter, I'm a broke phd student haha I'm not sure you're broke if you're that far ahead where a 2.5k loss matters haha
  13. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 07:16 AM) I'm putting 2.5k on the indians tonight once the lines are released. What do you do for a living? Lol or are you just far ahead in gambling to the point where a 2.5k potential hit doesn't matter?
  14. Play the best defensive team. Going to be hard to score anyway. I want Davis/Naquin in CF batting last and Guyer in right. Also, is Gomes a big drop off defensively from Perez?
  15. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 11:06 PM) Flowers was $3.5M. And I agree, Lawrie could easily be tendered and traded for a prospect from someone, I just didn't want to take the time to locate who would need someone like Lawrie and randomly select a prospect from their system when I wouldn't affect my projection for 2017 anyway. Mets are a team off the top of my head if they don't sign Walker. He can plug in at second or third actually depending on Wright's health.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 09:18 PM) Brandon Guyer can't hit RHP at all, Brantley has been broken all year. I guess Rajai Davis can replace but that's about it? Outfield is not their strong suit. I'll take my chances with Guyer.
  17. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 08:43 PM) The CF shouldnt of called him off. However you have communication and priority calls for a reason. You hear the CF calling ball, ball ball or mine you back off. The minute you decide f*** it I am not doing that is the minute a horrific collision is going to take place. The problem here was the CF, he shouldnt of made that call. If you call for the ball and call another fielder off you better f***ing catch the ball. Chisenhall is not some superior defender out in RF that he can ignore priority calls. And doesn't hit good enough to suck up that bad defense like a healthy Schwarber
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 08:12 PM) Naquin can't hit fastballs. Really no clue why he's playing tonight Should be Davis and Guyer in CF and RF
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) Wow. Never thought this would happen. Definitely knew it could but was hoping.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) But it was a routine play for Chisensuck I will agree he sucks haha guy definitely belongs on the bench. With everyone struggling to hit (besides Lindor) so gotta play best defense to prevent runs if you're not going to score.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 08:01 PM) On the guy camped under the ball? Ok. Gotta call it...guessing you've never played baseball? Naquin was calling for it.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 07:59 PM) No, he was very late getting there. Either way collision woulda been on Chisenhall.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 07:59 PM) No, he was very late getting there. Meh he was there for the catch anyway.
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) He's going to make that sliding catch instead of Chisenhall jogging under it? No. He slid to avoid collision... And was calling for it. Therefore, CF's ball.
