  1. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:17 AM) That Sox team would be dreadful outside of Sale and Q. Eaton?
  2. I kinda feel like they should just schedule 2 of them the last weekend of the season and have a 5-game series. With expanded rosters that isn't an issue.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 09:12 PM) The best part of near perfect games is glancing at the all time perfect game list. And seeing Philip f***ing Humber still on that list. Forever. Worst pitcher in baseball to throw a perfect game. At least his name is cemented in baseball history.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 08:32 AM) These make up games aren’t all that bad for a team in the White Sox position as they get to bring up a guy for the DHs. Hopefully someone somewhat interesting, but probably not. For when they actually contend, 4 make up games and counting isn’t ideal. Its nice they go there in September when rosters are expanded.
  5. I'm going to predict its a 161 game season and one of them is saved for the end of the season and only played if it matters.
  6. QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 12:56 AM) There are only enough indoor stadiums and warm climate stadiums for 28 teams. 2 teams would have to play each other at a cold stadium. This could be corrected by moving Twins games to the Vikings indoor stadium for the month of April. . Angels Dodgers A's Mariners Jays D-Backs Brewers Astros Rangers Marlins Rays Giants Padres Braves Then you'd have to play day games somewhere where it can be warm like Washington or even Colorado or something (odd to read that at first but it is a weird weather-wise. Has days where it can be warm during the day and snow during the night. Was in the 80s this week).
  7. It's also possible that one of the games doesn't get made up as that has happened before.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 12:38 PM) I think it was the difference between the stadium being financially feasible and not. Its not like adding a retractable roof is a small expense. But I agree....definitely a climate that a retractable roof would be ideal. I know it would cost a lot more money (obviously) but would be so worth it.
  9. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 11:53 AM) Signing Harper would most certainly push them over the luxury tax threshold though for the next three years. Harper going to a lot of teams certainly would. Exactly why the Dodgers are resetting their penalty this year by going under it: so they can try to sign one of the big names. Teams with money don't care about going over.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 11:39 AM) I just don't see Harper going to the Cubs. If they did they'd have to get rid of one of Bryant, Rizzo or Contreras, otherwise I'm not sure how they could have four $25M+ contracts. They wouldn't have to get rid of them. They just wouldn't be able to sign them all long-term. You'd have 3 years of Bryant, Rizzo, Contreras and Harper in the same lineup.
  11. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 08:25 AM) To be fair he wasn’t exactly good last year or in his short stint in Boston Red Sox definitely rushed him. If he wasn't called up before the trade and didn't have to be on the 40-man roster when we traded for him, would he have been called up when he was called up for the Sox?
  12. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 02:50 AM) Wow, nice capture! Interesting he went feet-first. Wonder if that was to avoid injury or if that's his style. Avoid injury.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 12:44 PM) Side note to this, that means the earliest that Rodon could come off of the DL is now May 25. I can't remember, but wasn't it always likely that it would be end of May/early June?
  14. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 12:54 PM) goodness. hopefully they win tonight and just fly back to Chicago. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 01:07 PM) It would be nice if the Twins did that for the Sox. Play two on June 4th and 6th, and deal with it. I'll never forget the time flavum said that for about a week straight last year only for it not to snow or rain that weekend.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 11:49 AM) I think he’s up by early June. That wouldn't be too bad of a wait.
  16. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 11:44 AM) When we have 1 game in 4 days, though? I just don't get the timing Until it actually snows and games are PPD, it's 3 in 4. But it doesn't really matter if they do it now or next week. Not really a big deal.
  17. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 11:29 AM) So now we have 2 long relievers, cool. Pretty necessary with the current rotation being Shields, MiGo and kids.
  18. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 10:43 AM) Chicago White Sox Verified account @whitesox Following Following @whitesox More #WhiteSox purchase contract of Chris Volstad from Class AAA Charlotte; Transfer Carlos Rodón to 60-day disabled list: I was close in another thread but I did say they could do this to add someone not on the 40.
  19. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 09:44 AM) Any chance he is the 26th man and makes a spot start when we play the Royals in the double header? I guess it would depend on if they want to make a 40-man roster move that early or not (Rodon is currently on the 10-day dl and could probably be transferred to the 60-day). Welp, I was close.
  20. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 09:38 AM) Going off no facts and just a straight guess, I see it more like July. Any chance he is the 26th man and makes a spot start when we play the Royals in the double header? I guess it would depend on if they want to make a 40-man roster move that early or not (Rodon is currently on the 10-day dl and could probably be transferred to the 60-day).
  21. I'm in a fantasy league right now with deep rosters. We have one NA spot. I have both Kopech and Eloy so I keep one on my bench. You guys think Kopech will be up in the next month, making it worth it for me to just stash him on the bench?
  22. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 04:05 PM) Bruce Rondon? Yeah. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/rondobr01.shtml
  23. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 04:02 PM) How? Thought it's a 1 year MiLB deal Because he doesn't have enough service time. According to Baseball Reference anyway.
  24. I'll take a 3-run bomb.
  25. PLEASE bring Delmonico in. I bet the run line today.
