The QO is $7M more. Also wasn’t good the second half.

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
Unfortunately, doesn’t sound like they will spend like that.

With no track record though, I don’t think he gets it. I can see him gambling on 1 year/$22M and having no draft pick attached in a year.

Imanaga, Torres and Grisham I can see taking it.

I never said he was.

Sox Machine on off season...
Someone will still sign Mullins as a bounce back candidate and to be their primary CF.

Michael Taylor and Mullins shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence. Like what.

The Worst Owner in Sports? The case for Jerry Reinsdorf
2 guys I would buy low on since Jerry is going to be cheap anyway: Casas and Detmers

Feel like it was done in good faith and an extension is being discussed/announced soon.

Shane Bieber picking up his player option is wild. He’ll now earn $16M rather than go to free agency with a $4M buyout.

Yeah and the payroll is so low. They should be willing to eat half (if not more honestly) to get the best package available). Hopefully some team is aggressive and thinks he can play to his potential and deals for him in the offseason.

Yeah, one less year of control now. If you hold onto him until say July, what kind of offer are you looking at now? Probably pretty similar to last July.

Yeah back when the big spenders were in the "penalty box" from overspending the prior year (the old International Amateur rules).

Tim Elko undergoes ACL surgery, expected to miss eight months
Oh I know. Going to be bare minimum. Saw them as a good landing spot for Lewin Diaz! (A guy who hasn’t played in the MLB since 2022 but hit 50 homers in Korea last season).

Not going to happen but f*** it, sign Naylor to a 4-5 year deal. Dude isn’t going to get a huge deal, hits left-handed, doesn’t cost a draft pick.

Ramos is quickly becoming forgettable. We’ll see how he comes into camp.

Tim Elko undergoes ACL surgery, expected to miss eight months
Let’s wait until if we have too many good hitting MLB ready OFs before we start thinking of moving one.

Agreed.

They kind of had a crunch of infields they played at 1B anyway. Not that I think either Sosa nor Vargas is a longterm solution there.
