QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 04:24 PM) Would you put up an offer in the $17.5 to 18 million dollar range to Todd Frazier? Would also depend on how his market looks as well.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 12:22 PM) I've seen an excessive number of Cubs clothing items today and it's bugging me. I've seen a lot downtown. Maybe it's the weather. Edit: baseball stuff in general.

QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:53 AM) Nick Confardo of the Boston Globe mentioned that the Red Sox would be a good landing spot for Frazier. I'm not sure Rafael Devers would be what the Sox are looking for, since they have Zack Collins who might project better and the Sox could also potentially be in play for Severino from the Nationals. Devers isn't a catcher and no way would he be on the table in a deal for Frazier. And I think they're saying if Pablo doesn't pan out at third and they want someone other than Brock Holt.

QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:40 AM) Jayson Stark @jaysonst 32s A team that has been talking with the White Sox says they've been waiting for Nats to sign Wieters to rekindle David Robertson trade talks I want to know who this other team is that the Sox are talking to is dammit! -

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:45 AM) Derek Norris? I don't see how he fits what the Sox are doing at all. Is he a good pitch framer? He could actually be a solid buy-low, bounce-back candidate. He was awful last year though. Don't really want him in a deal for Robertson unless it's to help offset some money and we end up getting 2-3 non-catching prospects in a deal. -

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:35 AM) Who says no? WAS receives: David Robertson CWS receives: Pedro Severino, plus one of Jose Marmolejos-Diaz or Rafael Bautista A comment on MLBtr suggested Severino and Sheldon Neuse. He's a second round 2016 pick who played SS and 3B. That's all I know about Neuse. -

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:37 AM) I've never heard of Diaz or Bautista, so I hope the Sox would say no unless I just need to educate myself on the Nationals system. Probably this. It's not like we're pro-scouts or know about every player the first time we see a name. I looked them up myself. -
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:35 AM) There's no chance he comes over under these rules IMO. While I don't think so either, it's still possible. Otherwise, we won't see him here for about what, 3-4 years?
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:31 AM) Otani is not in this July 2nd class. He's in that class if he comes over next off season, isn't he? It goes from July-June I thought. He'll be an amateur since he will be under 25.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 07:17 AM) I have no idea why I keep watching Walking Dead. To me, this garbage people group is a new low for the show. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 07:53 AM) I honestly can't believe how bad the CGI/Greenscreen is for a show that makes so much money. AMC is a POS for being so cheap on show budgets. I like the show and love the comics, but there have been a few other moments on the show that just looked terrible.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:23 AM) I'd be almost certain now that Severino would be involved in a Robertson package if a trade did happen. Agreed, he's likely expendable. But like I said above, I'm not sure he was the hangup in a deal. -

QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 09:12 AM) Nationals rumored to be signing Matt Weiters. I don't keep up a ton with the Nationals backstop situation -- but let's say it's a 3-4 year deal does that open the opportunity to go after Severino? I think that's the name of that minor league catcher were talking about on here. Maybe it's a precursor move? I'd guess only if it was 3-4 year deal though. If it's a 1 year deal probably doesn't mean anything. While I think it's possible, I don't think the hangup on the deal is Severino. I think the Nationals end up moving Norris and just using Lobaton as a backup. -

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 08:44 AM) Sox not attached to any names in Ben Badler's first report from the DR, in which he quickly goes over some of the bigger deals from the island. Lots of players still not attached to a team. Remember Sox are linked to Luis Robert from Cuba. What does everyone think the best strategy to do is? Sign a bunch of 16/17 year old kids from Venezuela, Cuba, etc. or try to go all in on Otani?

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 12:10 AM) I stopped after about 2 episodes of last season. Is it worth catching back up? I could see why you would stop. Wasn't the greatest season of the series but I do think it is worth it. Especially since the season is on Netflix.

Reading this article, it says "He also got into better shape, dropping from 268 pounds to 258 at the start of Spring Training." Like it's such a huge difference lol

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 09:14 AM) It had to be the Pirates and Yankees three way trade. Yankees ownership backed out last minute on Xmas Eve. I'll bet it was something like: Pirates get Quintana Yankees get Cutch Sox get Glasnow + Frazier + significantly more What a terrible deal for the Yankees. Who knows how close this even was. Who knows, a deal that fell through last minute could potentially be another one we never heard rumors of. -
QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 19, 2017 -> 02:27 PM) I can't imagine the Sox being the worst team in baseball this year. The Reds are going to lose 100 games. This guy will probably be depositing a lot of balls in the Ohio. Padres look like they can go 50-112 pretty easily.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 19, 2017 -> 11:18 AM) Most of Soxtalk loved the trade. Swisher was a power guy high OBP. His only year with the Sox, they did win the division . Wasn't on Soxtalk at the tine but yes, I did like the deal. In hindsight, however, bad trade.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 19, 2017 -> 01:19 AM) Are you guys talking running in the open world? I assume that must be harder than on an elliptical, because after 7 years and being quite out of shape, I did a little over 2 miles in 17 minutes. Probably could have reached the 3rd mile by minute 26 or so. I doubt I'm somehow a skilled runner, just going to assume elliptical is easier. I do treadmill with a slight slope. During the week, I go to the gym at 5am. Been busier at work past couple weeks and it's been making it more difficult to wake up early but it's going to die down now.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 19, 2017 -> 01:37 AM) What's wrong with Gio Gonzalez. That dude is a quality #3 starter. He's been a 3+ WAR pitcher for 7 straight years. Never had less than 27 starts in a year, and even threw in a really good 5 WAR season in 2012. The dude has carved out a really nice career. He could reach 40 career WAR, which would put his career right around Dan Haren, Derek Lowe, Chris Carpenter. Right? Dude's been a good starting pitcher his whole career. Regressed a bit the past few but still. Would have loved for him to pitch here.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 17, 2017 -> 10:05 PM) This week I ran both 3 miles in 24 min and a 7:30 mile. Couldn't be happier. I'm at about 32 mins. I haven't run in a while so I feel pretty good about it myself.
