  1. Still would have preferred that Keashcall trade. Has played up the middle in CF, SS, and 2B and has some time until he is needed on the 40-man so no immediate crunch to get him playing time. Vargas just really doesn't fit anywhere (also, why I thought they should move him to 1B while non-tendering Vaughn).
  2. To me, he should be the leading candidate for the spot since his service time has already started. And because he did play well at the end. We'll see how it goes in Spring Training.
  3. Him hitting in front of Trout would have sounded cool a few years ago.
  4. Ah yes, I was just wondering what AJ Preller had to say about anything.
  5. Yeah, it’s a head scratcher for sure. Seems like they want as many swing options/ long relievers as possible for all the young guys we have in the rotation.
  6. Only thing I can think of is they will 60-day IL him in a month and will open up a 40-man spot while holding depth. Granted, he’s not that special and can be cut anyway.
  7. He was in that group of 4-5 guys that I figure would be on the chopping block for this move/future moves where a younger, more interesting option becomes available.
  8. Think because they get the big bat that they wanted. But yeah, they still could go for Robert too.
  9. I love this. Gives you time to just chill after and watch something else (on days you actually feel like watching this crap haha)
  10. Caulfield, take a break from Soxtalk for at least 48 hours for the rest of us.
  11. I’ve been sitting here reflecting how crazy MLB contracts have gotten. We went from stars getting paid about $300M or a little over to $700M. Never even really saw $300, 400, 500, 600 million contracts. I kinda get it with Ohtani since he’s kind of like 2 players but damn.
  12. That billion dollars they committed to Ohtani and Yamamoto probably help land them 6 years of control of Sasaki.
  13. Which isn’t that crazy considering all the amateurs that agree with teams years in advance
  14. Sucks for the Jays. MLBTR article said they have about $6M to spend. Unless it’s like a Padres situation and they have guys they can announce. Edit: it might have been $8M
  15. Yeah, it's been so long that I completely forgot that it wasn't even made official yet.
  16. Just looked at his numbers. 0 WAR through 64 games.
  17. He's in a position where he should take on Montgomery from Arizona, hope he rebounds and opts out, and rejects a QO. Get a prospect out of it potentially.
  18. A lot of teams' money was already spent by the time he was coming over though. And since the new period starts during the offseason, it doesn't really matter if you sign on January 15th or December 15th.
