    A lot of teams' money was already spent by the time he was coming over though. And since the new period starts during the offseason, it doesn't really matter if you sign on January 15th or December 15th.

    Yeah that would suck for them but maybe someone later in the year can emerge and sign sooner than waiting until Jan 15th. Guess the only downside in doing this is paying Myles Straw.

    I've let this post marinate in the wrong thread for too long: Would be awesome if he flipped the switch his age 27 age season like Max Muncy (another guy who played some 1B who is the same height). I’m not going to hold my breath though.
