  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) Price with yet another disappointing performance in the post season. Doesn't augur well for Kershaw. For those hoping Dombrowski would come under pressure to make another big move, events are breaking on cue. Somewhere, Rick Hahn is grinning from ear to ear.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) They've played it during every passing period in my school today. It's so annoying. I purposely wore a Sox shirt today to piss people off. When I was in High School, that Go Go Sox song would be on during passing periods when the Sox were in the playoffs in 05 so it's fair. They're both equally terrible songs anyway.
  3. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 12:42 PM) I can't believe they are playing at Wrigley at 8 PM They've played night games on a weekend before you know. National television games like this one will be.
  4. I hope the Red Sox sign him. Gotta replace the power somewhere. Or sign Desmond or Reddick. Then they deal us Benintendi in a deal to strengthen their rotation.
  5. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 06:37 AM) My friends and coworkers that are Cubs fans think I'm nuts for calling tonight's game a must win for the Cubs but this series does not set up well for the Cubs if they drop tonight's game. Plus, I've got $100 at 10:1 on the Giants to win the pennant so go Giants! I was literally just in Vegas this past weekend. I'm kicking myself I didn't put money on them.
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 02:34 AM) I'm seeing more of a mix. Casual Cubs fans = calling a sweep Ones that watch baseball = realize it's the nightmare scenario Yep. This is what I've been seeing. All of my friends are nervous.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 07:11 AM) Can the mods open that gigantic Cespedes thread again? I want to see how many more posts we can add to it, lol. Let's try to beat it with this thread!
  8. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 01:03 AM) I'm rooting for Cleveland in this series. I want the Boston starters to get s*** on and force them to give in for whatever we demand of Sale/Q this offseason. Exactly what I'm thinking.
  9. Shoulda signed him last year.
  10. Erik Johnson is having TJ surgery.
  11. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 03:01 PM) man f*** cleveland Screw that. I want Boston's starters to get s*** on.
  12. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 04:22 PM) I don't believe he would have a draft pick attached to him if he chooses to opt out. I don't think that makes him eligible for a QO. This is wrong. He would. See Gordon, Alex.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 12:28 PM) I'd rather have Moore start Game 2 and have Guppy ready in the bullpen. I'd rather have Samardzija pitching at home than Wrigley.
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 01:03 AM) Benintend I'm pretty sure will be a stud. My only concern with him is how prone to injury he could be. Moncada has at least another year of development ahead of him so I'm less sure how he will pan out but he's immensely talented. I wanted JB Jr when his stock was low because he was always a great defender but now that he has "arrived" his ceiling isn't that high as a hitter.Still, loving great defense like I do it would be fine getting him instead of Moncada . However he has 3 years till free agency and I'd prefer 4 minimum. Why is he potentially injury prone? Guy has one freak accident collission and now hes injury prone?
  15. He looked very uncomfortable during post-game interview. Probably a bunch of awkward post-game hugs from teammates as well lol
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 11:52 PM) He wouldn't last five innings. Cubs would bash Samarjia. They just did like a month ago.
  17. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 11:12 AM) If a rebuild is coming, get rid of Q and Sale, no sense of keeping 1 or the other What if they deal one for huge haul and no one else offers the same for the other? Keep one if you don't get 2 huge offers.
  18. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Oct 4, 2016 -> 04:47 PM) LOL Excellent. Beautiful response. This board has bow gianed so much knowledge from your response.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 4, 2016 -> 02:24 PM) I wonder if he would want to move on after being passed over for the top job. Trying to use logic, if everyone were coming back, I think they would have said something. There are going to be some changes IMO. Agreed. Hahn said they'd address it later in the month.
  20. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Oct 4, 2016 -> 12:56 PM) Frazier hit 40 homers, 21 doubles, and drove in 98 runs. How is that not a legit #4 or #5 hitter? Another thing to consider is who plays 3B if Frazier is allowed to walk after next season. The Sox would have to address that before they parted ways with him. In a rebuild? Davidson or sign and flip candidate (I will admit, I don't know if there are any out there).
  21. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Oct 4, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) I think that you need to keep one of those guys. The Sox rotation would suck for a long time with Rodon being the only one who's been proven to get out ML hitters. Yeah I don't see both going. I think one goes this offseason (Sale) and the other in the next year/year and a half (Quintana).
  22. Rick Hahn on the score said he sees disadvantage in announcing rebuild. I'm starting to bet on a rebuild. Makes sense. A team would be may be willing to offer a huge haul to pry a guy who is unavailable away.
  23. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 08:13 PM) I had just assumed that he couldn't control his temper, but I'm not really surprised by that. A guy who cursed out his GM probably doesn't treat non-authority figures all that well, either. For sure. Other than the ones we know about, supposedly he has been sent home other times as well. Abbatacola also mentioned earlier that his source said Sale's part of the reason Robin didn't really want to continue.
  24. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 06:58 PM) 1.) Burdi or Nate Jones as Closer. 2.) Robertson traded for anything they can get for him. 3.) Shields traded for anything, nothing or, DFAed. He cannot be on this team next season because of his attitude, declining velocity, and inconsistent performance. 4,) Trade or DFA Avisail Garcia. 5.) Trade Lawrie. Sanchez and Saladino can replace him at second. 6.) Sign Austin Jackson for CF 7.) Charlie Tilson as back-up CF 8.) Narvaez stays as back-up catcher. Starting catcher remains a question mark. 9.) Keep Sale, Q, Rodon, and Gonzo and look for a legit 5th starter. 10.) Don't resign Morneau. That leaves DH as a need but should not be that difficult to fill. Then see what can be done with trades or promotions from the minors. I already miss having the Sox on when I come home. I won't be watching the North siders unless there is an elimination game and someone calls me to watch in the ninth. Ha
  25. It's not like they want to throw him out. It's just if a team wants to deal with the Sox for one of our two lefties, they would rather deal Sale.
