QUOTE (Lillian @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 09:31 AM) To respond to a few of your valid points: My expectations for Morneau are not really that high, although I never actually stated them. I would expect him to be a decent average hitter, with an OBP of .350 or better, and represent at least a power threat. "Wiping out the remainder of the farm system" is a legitimate concern, but then what exactly is there that is so valuable? That brings us to the more valid question regarding what the Brewers would be willing to accept. I think the key would be taking on all of the Braun salary. Where Anderson bats is not an issue for me. I merely put him at the top, because that seems to be the plan. If he bats 9TH, that would mean that the top 6 hitters would all potentially be .350 OBP hitters. OBP is perhaps the biggest problem with this current roster. I think it's just a reference to you plugging him right in the 4th spot. I'm expecting like 6 or 7 (and that isn't with the lineup you have).

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 09:36 AM) If Pedro Martinez is tweeting how to do a better job... Well... Ya. It would be wise to take advice from one of the best pitchers of all time.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 11:12 PM) How many of those hits are singles I was going to say at least half of those have to be homers.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 11:08 PM) I hate these extra innings games. This one feels worse since it's already been so long.
-
I'm nervous...was hoping the ball would hit the bag.
-
Amazing that it's a close game.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:51 PM) Who in their right mind would take Shields? #ShieldsFree2AGoodHome The only team that would already does lol
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) Of course. A team taking his contract would take on the entire contract, and the Sox would still get the money the Padres are paying them. I think he means that the team would take on on what we owe and we re-direct the money the Padres give us to the team receiving Shields.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:49 PM) Guys... One swing and it's a one run game f***ing crazy right.
-
QUOTE (chisox802 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:44 PM) Ummm, what? Lol thought the same thing.
-
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:40 PM) I think people are using their dissatisfaction with the team's on field performance an excuse to discredit the FO and organization as a whole. Discredit the FO? What have they done lately? 1 playoff appearance in what ten years?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:31 PM) To be fair, so would just about anyone. Yeah Hawk would be worse.
-
QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:30 PM) So someone will claim Shields off waivers later this season right? The dream currently is that we can trade him off eating some of the salary we owe him while Padres also pay him over half.
-
Come on Shields...have a miserable time here over the next few months. Enough to opt-out
-
Love that Robin is keeping him in. Edit: not sarcasm. I really do.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:26 PM) Avi is comical out there Lol what a leap
-
QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:24 PM) He was high on Desmond though the whole off-season. Gotta give him that. Despite believing any team could sign him as of Friday. Probably wouldn't have too good of a season either signing around now.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:20 PM) #GabeKaplerForWhiteSoxManager2017 I can dig it.
-
QUOTE (soxfan85 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:19 PM) I wonder what the Hawk is doing/thinking right now watching this? Drinking.
-
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:10 PM) I wouldn't blame Robin if he made Shields go 9 innings tonight. Seriously. Seriously. Let him be his own long reliever tonight.
-
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) Did he? Yeah I just double checked baseball reference.
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:05 PM) Detroit traded Price for Norris and Boyd. And another guy who's name I can't remember.

Fulmer came from the Mets.

QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:04 PM) Yeah, it took a ton of luck for them to sweep the 19-43 Twins. Think he means we were lucky to face them early on adding to our small sample size record when the season is new and fresh.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) Surely you jest. They got lucky with some wins over Minny and Oakland before they came apart like a 29 cent mop. I kinda felt that beginning was unsustainable. All those one run wins, elite bullpen (they're probably not as bad as they are now, but certainly not that good). Latos ended up turning into a pumpkin.
