Let's talk about Bryant. It's been awfully quiet on him and hes obviously going to be dealt. Is a 3rd crosstown trade in the works? Edit: Traded to Giants.

If he stays healthy he is going to have a great batting average, a modest WAR, and basically never strike out. He will probably be a fan favorite too. But we got Kimbrel. Still would have liked to see Bryant included somehow.

Get Bryant in this deal too.

IDK, that's just what I was reading when the trade happened. I would not put it past the Cubs to overhype the kid, though.

Of those three, I'd really like to keep Sheets, if possible. I think the guy has legit LH Power potential. But I can't help but feel like the Rays would easily beat that package. Plus, I guess the Cubs already got their 1B of the future when they traded Joc.

I feel like this is the deal we should be trying to make. Sigh.

This is partially why I'm happy about this trade. This team might need some better division competition to keep them sharp.

It's actually a little concerning that the Sox might be going with a "This time we will keep everyone healthy approach". If Kopech wasn't going to be transitioned to a SP, then a new SP probably should have been on the radar. What if Rodon runs out of steam? Cease cant be counted on yet. Giolito has not been an Ace this year.. and with our bullpen being so weird this year if one of them has a 'meh' playoff outing.. that might be the series right there. One injury to one of our top 3 SP and we are probably toast. Scherzer would have been an excellent fit for this team, as would Trea Turner. It's really a shame how weak our system looks and how teams like LAD and SD can seemingly make infinite trades and still have players teams want. Our blue chippers are limited to guys like Kelley and Thompson. The Sox should really be trying to land Kimbrel and Bryant at this point but that doesnt seem possible at all. Gonna be a rough time around here if the Sox get bounced in the first round again.

Reynaldo will probably have a quick hook with Kopech being his backup. I honestly don't mind it. I realize Lopez AAA numbers were straight garbage, but I do agree that we should at least see if we can turn him into anything that might still be useful for this team. Maybe we get lucky and he becomes a decent reliever. If not, well... it's a game against the Twins that we could win anyway even if Lopez does implode.

This is likely the case and the Twitter warriors should relax. There is a real labor shortage right now. Service all over has been problematic as a result.
