  1. ...How would you judge it?
  2. Decided to look more into this. I think RD can be slightly misleading, especially when teams only play a 6 game series in a season. Record against .500 teams in 2021: White Sox: 27-29 Giants: 35-28 Dodgers: 35-27 Rays: 48-42 Astros: 45-32 Red Sox: 46-48 Yankees: 48-43 Brewers: 32-36 So a handful of teams that were considered "very good" had records under .500 against the better teams in the league. But the "elite" seemed to have fairly impressive records against winning teams. The Sox need to get better against better teams, no other way around it.
  3. You can look it for yourself, but here is Houston, the team that the Sox will eventually have to get past... Rays: 4-2 Red Sox: 5-2 Yankees: 2-4 Blue Jays: 4-2 White Sox: 5-2 Seattle: 11-8 A's: 11-8 Giants: 1-2 Dodgers: 2-2 That's a 45-32 record against above .500 teams (when the season ended)* in 2021.
  4. You've proven you're not smart enough to comprehend the argument. It's ok.
  5. I think this was going to happen all along, but I also don't trust Bob at this point. Eduardo Escobar was a White Sox in July according to Bob..
  6. You're simply worng.
  7. Again, worthless having a conversation with you. Never said anything of the sort, but instead of acknowledging other points, you decided to be....you.
  8. In 2021 (regular season): OPS against Baltimore: .927 OPS against Cubs: .928 OPS against Twins: .866 OPS against Tigers: .812 OPS against Boston: .743 OPS against Indians: .689 OPS against Royals: .660 (I was wrong about that one) OPS against Astros: .659 OPS against Tampa: .648 But the point sort of remains....
  9. It's pointless aruging with you. Time and time again you've shown once you take a position, you'll die on that hill, no matter how bad you look doing it. You're talking out of both sides of your mouth and disgreading anything anyone says because of ONE STAT, yet claiming Jimmy is too hung up on his one stat. Believe what you want. The fact of the matter is the Sox hit the ball on the ground too much this season, and that exact same issue showed up in the playoffs. The full, healthy lineup slugged .376 in the playoffs against a decent Astros pitching staff. But keep jerking yourself off to offensive numbers put up against the Royals and Tigers pitching staffs...
  10. Which Jimmy did here, and you said he was only focusing on one stat too much...Kind of seems like you want it both ways here.
  11. I mean, they had 20 straight singles at one point in the playoffs. The starters posting a 10.22 ERA was issue No. 1 for me, but I think Jimmy's point is fairly valid given what we saw in the playoffs, albeit a small sample size.
  12. They absolutely hurt his value, I agree. However there may still be a team out there that is enamored with him enough to make a run at him....
  13. That's the only way Keuchle becomes movable, but without looking at the entire league, I'm sure there is an abundance of bad contracts that could be moved by teams, Keuchle isn't that unique.
  14. 1. I don't think Keuchel is movable at this point 2. I HATE the idea of killing the value of Crochet on the market by anchoring him with Keuchel. It's just money. You want to win that badly...spend it.
  15. That’s the type of move I think is required at this stage. It doesn’t blow up the core by any means, but it makes a sizable difference in the makeup of this team from 2021 to 2022.
  16. Yeah, it’s been proven time and time again. Additionally, even if that wasn’t true….I am 100% serious and literal when I say I have a better chance of growing 9 heads out of my left arm than the Chicago White Sox trading Jose Abreu. Jerry absolutely rewards loyalty and there has no better solider, maybe EVER, than Jose Abreu to the White Sox organization. He will never leave.
  17. So, like a Vegan catcher?
  18. If they are confident in being aggressive this offseason and making key additions, I’m fine them not picking up the Kimbrel option. You made a very bad trade…eat it. Move on. You can’t compound that error by having Kimbrel cost you a possible lineup addition because you don’t want the trade to look worse.
  19. I forgive you, lol.
  20. Lol, that’s expensive for the Dodgers, let alone the Sox. I’m frustrated but come on lol
  21. Their record against winning teams in 2021 says otherwise. They weren’t even close to .500 against playoff teams. Just coming back and doing it again next year seems like a mistake and asking for more of the same. And sorry, but just because the Sox franchise has had a HORRENDOUS history doesn’t mean I should be happy with just making the playoffs and hoping for the best.
  22. One record that will truly never be broken. It was ridiculous then and even moreso now. It also speaks to the absolute giant horseshoe that was firmly placed up the ass of that team.
  23. The concept that making the playoffs increases your odds to win a World Series seems pretty…basic. I think we get it. I think the point is making the playoffs and just hoping for the best with this unit isn’t the answer. I’m not advocating a trade of Abreu or Anderson or Giolito or Lynn….but additions and serious changes need to occur. Again, this unit gave us enough data this season that they aren’t good enough to hang with the best teams in the league. It’s not luck, it’s what happened on the field on a very regular basis this year. They can’t just come back with the same group next year and say “Listen, we just gotta make the postseason and roll the dice!” They have to get much better. On the field and off.
  24. Ehhhh, you had me but now you’re losing me. Blowing up this team would be dumb, most sane people would agree. However, what happened this week can’t be chalked up as some “random occurrence” like you seem to be painting. You mentioned statistics. Here is a fairly important one: This team showed all season, including the playoffs, they simply aren’t at the level of other playoff caliber teams. They need to seriously address that moving forward, and not just hope for the best moving forward.
  25. This is fair as well. He attempted to upgrade the team at the deadline and failed, pretty badly infact.
