Kmet also most likely isn’t long for the organization. If they cut him after the season, believe there is only about 3 million in dead money. A few weeks ago BJ met the media and spoke on a bunch of different current Bears players, but when Kmet came up, his reviews weren’t as glowing. It was a specific topic on sports radio that day, as they found it somewhat telling the choice of words Johnson used when describing Kmet. Not saying it justifies the pick, but it’s clear BJ works the TE position into a lot of his offensive packages and I’m going to roll with him for now. Opinions can change quickly, however.- 24-25 NFL Thread
I also think overall it was a poor use of draft capital- 24-25 NFL Thread
Think this is well said. We also don't know what trade down options they had to play with, and if Bears fans are going to be all in on Ben Johnson right now, it certainly seemed like he had a heavy influencer on this pick...so I'll roll with him (for now at least)- 24-25 NFL Thread

Yeah, dont love that a 10. But I also want to see how Friday goes down and where they go- 24-25 NFL Thread
Yeah, don’t love the way this is trending.- April 24 Gamethread Sox @ Twins 12:10
And this is why you argue with most of the board. That is NOT the point everyone is trying to make, but you're either being purposely obtuse, or you have a severe reading comprehension issue.- April 24 Gamethread Sox @ Twins 12:10
So you're explaining in six points how you reached your conclusion of endorsing Dalbec to start at shortstop, and you reached that conclusion because of the other names you listed have been so bad, like Amaya, Palacios, Tauchman, Maton.... I think you're sort of missing the bigger point that Ray, and others have been trying to make. The issue is those are the choices they have to make. These are the players and roster decisions made by Getz, and because of those decisions, the 2025 White Sox are starting a 30 year old at SS with a career -0.7 WAR, who in over 2000 MLB innings, has played 26 innings at the position. Yes, we know this a "rebuild" so you can save that reply for another day. But after setting the major league record for futility last season, most us feel some slightly better options would be appropriate.- April 24 Gamethread Sox @ Twins 12:10

The Sox are rebuilding, they're supposed to be bad!!!!!1111- 2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
By a large margin according to a tweet I saw earlier this morning. Been a brutal stretch for them, and they've come out looking strong.- 2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
Also not true- 2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
If they win the World Series, I wouldn’t call it meaningless.- 2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
Been watching a lot of Cubs, and they look legit. Steele will hurt long term and they still need a few more pen arms, but they can flat out rake.- Fire Chris Getz
Even if you wanted to give Getz the benefit of the doubt at this point (and I do think there are some elements of truth to the idea it’s too early to fully judge him) I keep going back to a very simple premise… In what world should ANYONE trust the judgment and decision making of Jerry Reinsdorf? There is MORE than enough history to tell us a majority of his hiring decisions and motivations do not support any semblance of winning results on the field (or court) Because we’re been subjected to so much, Getz is simply guilty by association. Being hand selected by Jerry is a GIANT red flag that it’s the wrong guy. That’s how I know Getz isn’t the man for this job. Because Jerry picked him.- Crochet speaks...
And he would have still ended the game going 7.1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB and 11 K's. Crochet will be in contention for AL Cy Young this season, and the White Sox have the fewest wins in the American League. So I ask...- Ownership Change Will Result In . . .
Jerry Reinsdorf bought the White Sox in 1981. The first time they ever made the playoffs in consecutive years was 2020-2021. During his ownership run, they are 3419-3495, wonderfully below average. Since 2023, they are 106-233. In the last decade, they are 670-862. In the last 20 years, they are 1487-1666. ....... So to answer that question, my response would be dramatic improvements. You really don't need to put much effort in to get those dramatic improvements. Jerry has done a fantastic job at setting the bar incredibly low.- Ownership breakdown: ishbias 35%, Reinsdorfs 50%
To beat the deadest of dead horses....nothing changes until Jerry goes. It's Groundhog Day until then.- Offense non-development...
This is a good thing, and we'll see if it lasts into the dog days of August. But it's a smart, sound approach, and one we should all hope continues. Everyone, including Getz, knows they are only going to get so far with the talent currently on the roster (which is not very far at all) but if the same approach is used when there is more talent, hopefully we see the results in the W-L column. The hard part is finding the talent. We'll see if Getz is up to the task.- Offense non-development...
Over the 15 years or so, how many players have come here and gotten worse? Certainly that number is higher than the players that have come here and gotten better. Some of that of course has to do with age, but we've seen it far too often with the White Sox. Some random guys that come to mind: -Adam Dunn -Jeff Samardzija -Adam LaRoche -Todd Frazier -James Shields -Derek Holland -Ceasar Hernandez -AJ Pollock I could go on, but that took me about 3 minutes to think about. And it absolutely has to do with how these guys are prepared, coached, what they are doing that other teams aren't. And sure, there have been success stories too. But certainly not as many.- Crochet speaks...
I find the White Sox record of 105-232 in their last 337 games much more disrespectful, but to each their own.- Crochet speaks...

Like this quote a lot, wish more hitters had it- Sox "way behind everyone else" Lance Lynn
I just can't wrap my head around the physiology of a White Sox fan "upset" by these comments. He was literally asked to talk about each place he pitched, and to speak on the differences between what he experienced with each organization. He gave his honest opinion. Isn't that what we ask of players? Would White Sox fans preferred he flat out lie and say "The White Sox were wonderful, just a way better organization than the Dodgers, Yankees and Cardinals in my experience." Are you are saying you want to be lied to to feel better about the team that you root for? You just can't handle or wrap you head around the idea that the Chicago White Sox don't offer players the best tools and resources, or they don't have the same standards as the Dodgers or Yankees? Even after watching this team go 104-232 in their last 336 games? I don't get it. - 24-25 NFL Thread
