Pending White Sox Move? (*May contain partially digested news)
Yeah I guess I wouldn't mind it if his contract was similar to what Maeda got. We'll see.

Pending White Sox Move? (*May contain partially digested news)
Does anyone else want the Sox to stay away from Kikuchi? I don't know a whole lot about him, but it seems as if he's had his fair share of injury concerns. And his Japanese Leage stats aren't even close to being as good as Masahiro Tanaka or even Kenta Maeda. Just seems like a risky move to me.

Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
I remember I used to live and die in every game thread years ago. For whatever reason I stopped using this forum for awhile but I'm glad I rediscovered it. I love it. And yeah, if a mod can change my username that would be great. Thanks!

Yep. Haha.

I commented "Help recruit Manny to the South Side Yonder!" and he liked it so Machado to the Sox confirmed ?

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
I agree, the past couple weeks have been extremely irritating. Constantly refreshing these forums, Twitter, etc to see if there's any updates gets tiring after awhile. But I'm willing to deal with it if the Sox are ultimately able to get one of them. It's just a waiting game at this point, hopefully we start to see some movement after the New Year.

So you don't want the Sox to sign either of them?

All I know is that the quality of the forum has improved significantly since Peavy has stopped posting.

I have a feeling that something will happen soon.

Pending White Sox Move? (*May contain partially digested news)
I like the Dylan Bundy idea. Former #4 overall pick with good stuff and 3 years of control left. He didn't have a good season at all last year so I wonder what it would take to get him knowing that the Orioles are still at the beginning of their rebuild and looking to accumulate prospects. He's worth a shot if the price isn't too high.

Starting pitching is the main reason why the Orioles have progressively been getting worse and worse...not Britton and Jones. So it's not like the Sox would be "reuniting the Orioles as a rebuilding strategy". Obviously those two aren't as good as they used to be but they are still productive players and would make the Sox a better team. Add in the fact that they are close with Machado and it's just a bonus.

Pending White Sox Move? (*May contain partially digested news)
My gut tells me it's Ottavino. The Sox were said to be looking for another relief pitcher even after the Colomé trade and he would make sense regardless of what happens with Harper/Machado.

Sox still in the running for Harper/Machado
I would be shocked if the Sox traded for Realmuto. Shocked. A trade like that would go against everything the Sox have been trying to do since December 2016.

Any Interest in Clayton Richard?
He already was on the Sox like 10 years ago, he was part of the Jake Peavy trade if I remember correctly.

Is it true that Alonso and Manny are together right now?

Sox still in the running for Harper/Machado
I was born in 98 and they definitely register to me. There were several Sox fans other than me that I knew in high school. Obviously way more people like the Cubs but there is a group of young people that are Sox fans.

What would you prefer?
Playoff appearances don't mean a thing if you don't win it all. I don't even know why this is a debate.

What would you prefer?
#2. Easily.

It doesn't. They'd be better off avoiding Harper completely and just signing Adam Ottavino and Kelvin Herrera to beef up their bullpen.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Yeah, nobody is going to take Russell given all his baggage. So it'd probably be Happ and Almora along with Heyward, which would subtract their starting CF and a quality utility guy who is young, cheap, and provides decent production at a variety of positions. And that doesn't even include that fact that they would have to include one of their better prospects as well. It's just not worth it for them IMO but it's a moot point because it won't happen anyway.

It's not going to happen anyway, but would Harper even make the Cubs better in this scenario? Getting rid of Heyward would be good for them, but they'd probably have to include at least 2 of Happ/Schwarber/Almora/Contreras and probably a pitching prospect like Alzolay as well to make it happen. Harper is obviously a stud, but they'd be creating more holes while filling one.

Do you really think they'll get both? At this point I'd be ecstatic if they just got one.
