Need more rumors.

I’m going to be disappointed if they trade with the Dodgers and Outman isn’t coming back to the Sox.

The way I see it, they need to rip the bandaid off now and trade Cease this offseason. I don’t see how holding him into next season accomplishes anything. Yeah, maybe he will pitch better than he did in 2023, but it’s also possible that he could have another down year or even worse, get hurt. Not worth the risk to me. Cash in now.

PCA is never going to hit at the MLB level. No thanks.

Castillo fetched 2 top 100 prospects and 2 low level pitchers. I think Castillo was better than Cease is now, but Cease has half a season more control now than Castillo did so I think the return should be roughly the same.

That’s not even a remotely comparable situation to Cease right now. The Reds trading Luis Castillo is a lot more similar to where Cease is at now and the Reds got a good amount for Castillo.

Vazquez wasn’t that bad. There will always be a demand for pitchers who are durable and have the stuff that Cease has. Add on the fact that he has 2 years of control left and they should be able to get a nice haul for him.

That’s their problem then. Cease is durable, has good stuff, and is relatively cheap for the next 2 seasons. Any contender should want a guy like that in their rotation.

People keep floating Brendan Donovan’s name, I like him but feel like the centerpiece for Cease should have more upside than he does.

It was a small sample size, but Cowser looked horrific at the MLB level this season. Would rather go for Kjerstad personally.

I don’t think they have the ammo to get Cease unless they trade guys from their MLB team.

You know it’s bad when this thread isn’t even gaining steam after something like this. I think a lot of people have just given up with this team.

He couldn’t strike anyone out if I remember correctly, but I’m surprised he never even got an audition at the MLB level during those rebuild years.

Adams gives me Davis Martin vibes. Low round pick that just came out of nowhere and put up solid numbers.

He’s still going to be motivated I would think. If he has another bad season next year his future earning potential is going to take a massive hit.

I mean Middleton is probably right, but how would he know that? He wasn’t here when TLR was the manager.
