  1. It would never happen but imagine if they traded TA for a haul and then signed one of the free agent SS to replace him. Must be nice to root for a team that actually would make moves like that.
  2. Andrew Benintendi is another guy who I think might be an option. Left handed, is familiar with the division, shouldn’t be too costly, etc. And the Sox have liked him in the past. Pretty sure he would’ve been the pick in that draft in Boston didn’t take him ahead of the Sox.
  3. Fair. At this point I’m open to pretty much any option as there is no way they could pick anyone worse than what we just had.
  4. Serious question, would Ron Washington be that bad of a pick? I know he is on the older side as well but he has been coaching all this time. They also give him credit for improving Marcus Semien’s defense so maybe he could come in here and preach the fundamentals.
  5. I’m assuming the new manager will be able to bring in his own coaches which is also a key aspect of this. Then again it’s the Sox we’re talking about so who knows.
  6. He’s full of it just like all the other pretend Twitter insiders.
  7. I don’t doubt that he is going through some health problems, but my theory is that they are using this as the reason for his departure instead of “firing” him.
  8. Nobody is going to give the Sox anything of significance for him at this point. Just have to hope he turns it around next year.
  9. That’s not how it works. He had more value in the past than he does now simply because of multiple years of team control.
  10. Not really, he was cheap and had a lot of team control at that point.
  11. Not to trade him in the offseason at his lowest value given that next year is a contract year and he will be really motivated to bounce back.
  12. You know the team stinks when ChiSoxFanMike is the topic of the day on SoxTalk.
  13. Schwarber would have 8 home runs with a .634 OPS if the Sox signed him.
  14. Vinnie Parise has less credibility than peavy44.
  15. 2 and a half years is a pretty decent chunk of time. But if the Sox were to trade for him and not extend him, they would pretty have to accept the fact that they would be really bad for a long time after he leaves because they gave up so much young talent to get him in the first place.
  16. Thing is that it makes no sense to give up all that talent just for 2.5 years of Soto’s services. No smart team is going to decimate their system for 2.5 years of him. They will sign him to an extension and have a generational talent like him in the middle of the lineup for the next 10+ years minimum. The Sox just do not operate like that.
  17. Why is this thread 10 pages? There is literally zero chance the Sox would ever trade for Soto in the first place, let alone give him 500 million dollars. Only way this would ever become even a possibility is if Jerry no longer owns the team.
  18. Where does Schultz slot into the Sox top 10 prospect rankings?
  19. Why would the Yankees want Pollock? Obviously Gallo has been a disappointment but his upside is for sure higher than Pollock’s if he can turn it around.
  20. They should claim Touki Toussaint and DFA one of those bums.
  21. I completely disagree. Hendriks would become one of the most sought after relievers available and we all know teams always need more relievers, especially elite ones. As for Giolito, he still has value too despite his recent struggles. The Sox could probably get a similar package for him that the twins got for Berrios last year.
