I don’t want to mortgage the future at the expense of just this season. The Sox are in a good position to contend for a long time and I don’t want to ruin that by making a trade for the immediate short term.

I’m just so afraid of the Sox making a shortsighted trade. Being a Sox fan has conditioned me to expect the worst in any scenario

What would it take to get Burnes?

Am I the only one who is scared of trading BOTH Dunning and Stiever for Lynn? I just feel like that could have disaster written all over it.

The only way I would trade Kopech is if he was part of a package for deGrom. That’s it.

Shock the world and trade for Bauer as a rental?

I would trade Adolfo as part of a package for a pitcher without a doubt. Maybe something involving Lance Lynn?

This might be a dumb question, but could Cespedes be the Sox starting right fielder in 2021 if they signed him? Or would he need time in the minors? He’ll be 23 years old by Opening Day 2021 so he’s pretty much the same age as Robert.

I wonder how much it would take to keep McCann around? 30 million? 40 million? Whatever the amount is, the Sox need to do it.

I feel like the Sox will get destroyed in this game which means they’ll probably win. Because baseball is weird.

Hopefully it’ll be Lopez for 3, Detwiler for 2, Foster for 1 or 2, and then go from there. The Sox need to have a short leash for Reynaldo

I’m concerned about Moncada. Hopefully it’s just a rest day, but if that’s the case, why didn’t they rest him yesterday instead?

As long as Robert is back tomorrow for the start of the Cubs series, I don’t hate this lineup. Hopefully Grandal will be back tomorrow too.

I thought he did a pretty good job defensively tonight. And he’ll probably get better on both sides of the ball if he even gets somewhat consistent playing time.

Dunning started 11 games in AA in 2018. Collins played 122 games in AA in 2018. I’m guessing they probably worked together at least a few times, even though it was a long time ago at this point.

Then why is he on this team? Because they never use him as the DH either.

I wonder if Collins will catch tonight. One because he probably has more familiarity with Dunning than McCann does, and two, tomorrow is a day game and Giolito is pitching.

Which starting pitchers would even be available from those teams?

I don’t even have any reaction when Moncada looks like he’s hurt because it happens so often

I’m guessing the Robert thing is just precautionary considering that he said he’s fine, as well as the fact that it’s late in the game and the Sox are winning.

I wonder if Skubal will be on a pitch limit tonight. If he is, hopefully the Sox hitters are patient and work the counts to knock him out early. Same goes for Mize when they face him tomorrow.
