  1. All the White Sox have to do is sweep the Cardinals and then go on the road and sweep Cleveland and Boston and everybody will be happy. We'll all be talking 2015 Playoffs again.
  2. I would like to think that the White Sox will get a decent return for the Shark. I can't imagine get much of anything for LaRoche, Beckham, Flowers, Ramirez, Soto, Sanchez and Danks.
  3. I have a What If that rarely gets mentioned. Charley Finley wanted to buy the White Sox after the 1958 season. The Comiskey family sold the team to Veeck instead. If Finley would of bought the team just think how the White Sox franchise would of been. Finley started building his Oakland A's championship teams in the mid 1960's. He signed Rudi, Jackson, Hunter and a number of other players. Those World Champion teams from 72-74 could of been on the Southside of Chicago instead of Oakland. Finley was a White Sox fan who loved Chicago. I don't see how the franchise was better off under Veeck than what it would of been under Finley. With the teams Finley had during the late 60's and 70's the White Sox would of had a dynasty here on the great Southside of Chicago. I had no use of Veeck. He traded off our young talent after the 59 season and when he bought the White Sox in 1976, he had 4 of the worse teams here in the history of the franchise. If Finley would of bought the White Sox in 1959 the franchise would of been better off.
  4. I'm surprised that WMVP-ESPN 1000 didn't bid on the rights of the White Sox+Bulls. Their ratings are very low and I'm beginning to wonder if they are going to change their format soon.
  5. My Sox Summer; Glad I read your article about White Sox bobbleheads. I save them also. I have 85 different White Sox bobbleheads. Keep us informed if you hear anything back from the White Sox about some of your ideas.
  6. One of the posters mentioned the stadium JR tried to get built in Addison. We're never going to find out because the stadium wasn't built there, but does anybody think they would of drawn more people in Addison? I've seen a number of White Sox surveys where they claim that 20% of White Sox attendance comes via public transportation. There's no public transportation anywhere near that Addison location. There's a Metra station in Wooddale, which isn't close to that stadium site. JR doesn't like to talk about it but when the White Sox were looking for a new stadium back in the 1980's the City of Chicago wanted to build a stadium for the White Sox in the South Loop at Roosevelt and Clark. JR turned down the offer and instead tried to get the stadium built in Addison. When Addison didn't work out the offer from the City was off the table and the White Sox got stuck at the present location. Everybody I have ever met always thought the White Sox would of been better off in the South Loop than their present location or Addison. In other words I think JR screwed up by not having the White Sox stadium built in the south Loop.
  7. It seems like this subject of White Sox attendance brings out a big response. I've often wondered does anybody who works for the White Sox read any of these comments?
  8. I've said it before and I will say it again: Bad Team+Bad Stadium Location+Bad Stadium Upper Deck= BAD ATTENDANCE.
  9. Gillaspie has really been bad this 2015 season. He hasn't hit and is simply a bad fielder. The White Sox must really have a low opinion of Matt Davidson. If he can't play third base on this team he must not figure into the White Sox future plans.
  10. I was at the game and it was certainly a good game to watch and win. Still, Adam Eaton has to be the biggest disappointment this 2015 White Sox season. He looks terrible at the plate. He hit .300 in 2014 and I think everybody was expecting big things from him in 2015. I don't know why he hasn't been good this season but this team would have alot more success if he was performing better this year. He looks lost at the plate.
  11. Does anybody know what the radio ratings are for the baseball teams in Chicago this year? Are radio ratings high most years? I've always been led to believe that the radio is a after thought with teams. TV is considered the important thing to the owners.
  12. I just hope that Hahn does something to shake up this team. The only things he has done so far this season is bring up Rodon and Sanchez. Rodon has worked out and Sanchez isn't hitting his weight. I'm surprised that nothing else has been done. Now that the press is dumping all over Ventura, I would think he will be replaced sometime before the All Star break.
  13. Yesterdays rainout should be a new start for the team. Because of the rainout Danks will be skipped in the rotation this time. The White Sox should skip him in the rotation forever. It's time to bring up and start Johnson. This is the 3rd year in a row that Danks has been getting his rear end kicked in. I realize the White Sox don't want to eat his contract so simply put him in the bullpen.
  14. Hahn has to take some of the blame for this. I have no doubt in my mind that Ramirez, Gillespie, Sanchez, Flowers, Soto and Danks will no longer be in MLB in 2016. These players have been put into the lineup day after day with little success. It will be interesting to see the 2016 White Sox Opening Day roster. Hahn will definitely have his work cut out for him in the coming months.
  15. I've been led to believe that one of the present investors will take over the team from JR. There are supposedly 3 investors who want to take over the team if JR ever decides to sell.
  16. The Mets have just let Dillon Gee go. Any team that wants him can have him. I would rather see him in our rotation than Danks.
  17. Todays Chicago Crain Business said the White Sox expect to draw 1.9 million this 2015 season. That's a increase of 250,000 0ver 2014. If the team keeps winning I would like to think they will draw over 2 million.
  18. Trade Shark, Melky Cabrera and Danks to the Angels for Mike Trout.
  19. Assuming the White Sox are out of it by the trading deadline, they trade Shark for either a good young third baseman or young catcher. Duke might bring us a decent player also.
  20. 1) I would rather sign Shark to a long term deal. A rotation of Sale, Shark, Rodon, and Quintana solves alot of problems going into 2016. We need a 5th starter. 2) Alexi is 34 years old. You're not going to much for him. Unless they just want to get rid of his salary, it doesn't make any sense to trade him for nothing.
  21. The White Sox drew 90,000 this past weekend against the Twins. The SRO game for PK certainly helped. It was also the first weekend where the weather was decent. The White Sox were expected to draw 2 million this year. If the team keeps losing it won't do that number. So be it.
  22. The White Sox should be ashamed of themselves for selling SRO tickets for $75. I'm in a season ticket package so it doesn't affect me. But still to charge that much for SRO tickets is shameful. I think it's another PR mistake for the White Sox.
  23. If he is arb-eligible after the 2016 season, does that mean the White Sox can lose him to another team? Does anybody know?
  24. The attendance has gone down every year since 2006. But still they drew over 2 million people every year thru the 2011 season. I firmly believe that when the White Sox draw 2 million that's a tremendous amount of people. I read earlier this year in the Sun Times that the Cubs organization expected the Cubs to draw about 3 million in 2015 and the White Sox organization thought they would draw 2 million people in 2015. I would think if the White Sox keep losing they won't draw that many but they will draw more than what they did in 2014. Considering everything, that's a plus.
