  1. I'LL say it again. Bad teams + bad stadium location + bad stadium upper deck= BAD ATTENDANCE. Considering everything I'm convinced that if the White Sox draw 2 million people a year, they've done well. Anything above 2 million is a bonus.
  2. Maybe the White Sox will bring back Terry Bevington.
  3. Nobody loves White Sox baseball more than myself. That being said, I think it's crazy that this game is going to be played today. I dearly hope that nobody gets hurt or killed today. These games could of easily been played at another time/in another location. I have the cable TV on now and there's still trouble in the city. MLB should postpone this entire series.
  4. I use to travel to see the White Sox play a road series every year. The Cleveland stadium was the biggest disappointment. Other than the fact that the stadium is in the downtown area, there was nothing about it that I liked. The Cell is much nicer in my opinion. The Indians play in a downtown stadium in a one team market and they don't draw. That Indians announcer has nothing to brag about.
  5. Bad teams + bad stadium location + bad upper deck= bad attendance.
  6. NOBODY is going to trade for Danks and pick up his contract. I wonder if anybody would even pick him up for nothing if the White Sox eventually release him.
  7. Danks has been lousy the entire spring. I realize that these are exhibitions but he has been just awful. If he keeps getting his ass kicked once the season opens, I'm wondering how long it will take before the White Sox make a change. If the White Sox release Danks it will be interesting to see if anybody picks him up.
  8. Hope I'm wrong but I don't see this team winning more than 82 games. The bottom of the starting rotation, Noesi and Danks is BAD. It's as bad as any bottom of a rotation in MLB. I'm still hoping Hahn adds another starting pitcher before Opening Day. Danks and Noesi have no business being in any starting rotation. Both of them will probably be out of MLB soon. I realize that its water over the damn but I wish Hahn would not of traded Addison Reed last year for Davidson. If they would of kept Reed they would not of spent all that money on Robertson. That money could of gone for another starting pitcher.
  9. Matt Lindstrom was released by the Angels today. I would welcome him back with both arms. If he's healthy I hope the White Sox sign him.
  10. He turned down a $75 million dollar contract from the Cubs. So I really don't know what he is looking for.
  11. I have no doubt that Forbes is wrong on the value of the White Sox franchise. When the day comes and the White Sox are sold, they will sell for way over $1 BILLION dollars. With the stadium deal they have and a new TV deal coming up the franchise will always be making money.
  12. I don't know what scares me more, the bottom of the White Sox starting rotation, or the bottom of the White Sox bullpen. I'm convinced that this White Sox team is going to be able to hit. Top to bottom, this lineup is going to score alot of runs. With this pitching staff, this team is going to have to score a ton of runs to make the the 2015 Playoffs.
  13. If the White Sox are thinking of putting Brad Penny in the rotation they must have as much confidence in Danks and Noesi as I do, which is none. There are also rumors the bad guys on the Northside are going to move Travis Wood. I would think the White Sox would be interested in him. Needless to say the White Sox have to improve the back of the rotation if they want to get into the 2015 Playoffs.
  14. I'm out and out scared of a bottom of a rotation that has Danks, Noesi and Penny. I keep hearing the bad guys on the Northside are going to release Edwin Jackson and eat his money. I'm wondering if the White Sox would pick up Jackson. Jackson was a decent pitcher when he was with the White Sox. As long as he doesn't cost the White Sox anything. I wouldn't be surprised to see him picked up by the White Sox.
  15. Other than Opening Day and PK day there appears to be alot of seats available for every game. It doesn't look like they have increased there season ticket base much for 2015. Am I misreading this?.
  16. Dick Allen; I agree with you. I met Stone when he pitched for the White Sox and I've met him since he's announcing the White Sox. The perfect word I have in describing him is ARROGANT. I'm hoping 2015 will be his last season with the White Sox.
  17. To the best of my knowledge, Hawk has a few more years on his TV contract with the White Sox. Stones contract has one more season to go. Taking everything into account 2015 will be Stones last season with the White Sox. I wouldn't be surprised if 2015 was Stones last year as an announcer anywhere. At his age I don't anybody will sign him.
  18. Taking Castro over Ramirez at short equals taking Mark Grace over Frank Thomas. Castro can't carry Ramirez jockstrap defensively. The writer is obviously just another Cubs fan. The Cubs will move Castro off their team in a heartbeat if they get a decent offer. When the day comes when Castro is moved, I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved to another position.
  19. Maybe if the Cubs sign Shields they will trade him to the White Sox for Danks and Noesi.
  20. I think the biggest mistake JR made was the handling of the new stadium. He orginally had an offer from the City of Chicago to build a new stadium in the South Loop at Roosevelt and Clark. He rejected the offer and wanted to build a stadium in Addison on land JR owned. When that didn't work out, the offer from the city was off the table. They wound up at the present location. If JR would of taken the South Loop offer, there would of been no threat of the team moving to Florida. The franchise would of been better off in the South Loop. JR is directly responsible for the upper deck fiasco. He wanted another level of suites. Nobody wants to sit in the upper deck. He wound up building a stadium where it should not of been built and he built a stadium where nobody wants to sit in the upper deck. All in all, not a good legacy for this ownership. His legacy will be much better with the Bulls that what it will be with the White Sox.
  21. Who would you want pitching on the White Sox, Shields, Danks or Noesi? If the White Sox are serious about contending in 2015 Shields is a no brainer. The White Sox will not make the 2015 Playoffs with a bottom of the rotation of Noesi and Danks.
  22. I had a nice time today at Soxfest. I'm disappointed that Hahn didn't announce that the White Sox obtained another starting pitcher this weekend at Soxfest. It would of been great to announce that James Shields signed with the White Sox. I wish I had more confidence in the bottom of our rotation of Noesi and Danks, but I simply don't. I'm afraid that the bottom of our rotation is going to be so bad we won't contend in 2015 and JR will have another white flag trade this summer.
  23. You would think he would spend more time trying to get the Cubs out of last place. It must be nice to spend the type of money his father made. I would of liked to have been born into wealth. Your perspective of life has to be different. I've seen many kids run their family business into the ground. He rubs me as if he has all the capabilities of going broke somewhere down the line. If it wasn't for his daddies money he would be shining shoes for a living.
  24. The White Sox have definitely improved the team this off season. But still, the bottom of the rotation with Noesi and Danks scares me to death. I try to point out the positive. I'm not the second coming of Jay "Woman Beater" Mariotti. I don't see the 2015 White Sox making the playoffs unless they acquire another decent starting pitcher. Maybe Noesi and Danks will have a good 2015 season. I hope so but I'm not counting on it.
  25. QUOTE (My_Sox_Summer @ Jan 12, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) Sorry that I have jacked this thread. It was to be expected. I wasn't really liked over there by many of the admins, they just needed an excuse. I do like the non-confrontational approach, makes it much easier. WSi is a G-Rated site. I read that there membership is getting smaller by the year. Fewer people are reading that site. I was banned once for some comment I made about the Cubs player Castro. When I make comments on that site, I watch what I say. I find SoxTalk to my liking as opposed to WSI. If they ever banned me again, I would never read it again.
